Advertised with room - cooked English breafast. Apparently no chef so was told when we checked in it will be a continental breakfast. Also as there was no chef there would be no evening meals for the rest of our stay. Continental breakfast was small variety pack cereals, yoghurt (just 2 available), 2 apples, 3 muffins (flies kept landing on these) & toast. Not what I would call Continental. The last morning there were some miniature pastries which were snapped up by foreign visitors.
There was no room available I was not helped by the staff thier who blamed Expedia and ignored me. I was left stranded with my family despite having booked and paid for my room. I was unable to make contact with Expedia who disabled typing on messages
The restaurant menus need revising as little choice unless you want something with chips and greasy ones at that! On the first night I ordered one of the couple of alternatives - belly pork. The whole dish was so bad I sent it back. The manageress said she hadnât received any other complaints but two other tables complaining about the same dish! Needless to say we ate dinner at other restaurants.
The management and staff were very welcoming, the room was to a high standard of cleanliness, the bed was clean and comfortable. The only fault we could find was a limited menu and the non availability of a cooked breakfast. They have only recently taken over the establishment and have been left with a debt to pay from the previous proprietor. It is no longer a Green King, that was disappointing as I could of earnât discount as a Blue light worker.
We had hiked 15 miles so we were just so pleased to get in and have a good shower and a comfy bed.
Just as well we were already awake though as they were sawing up wood to make decking below our room window at 7.15 amâŠ
The beds were wonderful, the room was larger than expected and the people were very nice. I look forward to seeing what this hotel will be like after itâs renovated and has beautiful hanging baskets outdoors. It definitely needs some TLC! Adding an espresso maker for good coffee would also be a plus hint hint ;-)
Under new management and keen eager to please friendly staff. Executive beldroom of an excellent size and very comfortable.
Handily placed to use as base for travelling to surrounding areas.
Excellent room, good continental breakfast and welcoming staff.
Disappointing evening meal experience with multiple advertised aspects of the food and wine not available.
Had to change from the booked cottage to a room in the main pub( excellent)
Inn under new management struggling with bookings made under previous owner
Book rooms in the pub no cooked breakfast now
Cottage has no WiFi or mobile coverage very steep stairs to tiny shower/ toilet downstairs in basement Access via main road pavement or through pub with stairs and rough ground outside EV charging in car park
Lovely inn to stay in with my two small dogs in way through to Devon - spacious immaculate room with separate bath and walk in shower, ample parking - soon to be hooked up for EV charging too! Friendly staff and good breakfast - whatâs not to love!
Edford room needs redecorating and fixing of many broken or faulty items. Bathroom the worst area with lots of faults. Noise from area below was annoying. Breakfast time limited, poached eggs were all hard and not offered orange juice, which should have been included.
