Arrived in the dark on a bitterly cold misty February night. Despite the fact that Steve had only just got out of hospital after a hip operation and clearly in pain, he did everything possible to make me welcome and comfortable. Rooms recently completely refurbished, well-pointed and warm. Great land scaping projects in the garden ready for the summer to make wonderful sitting out areas. The quintessentially simple cosy affordable Dorset Inn, log fire. stone floor simple decor, gumboots and pub labrador. Perfection.
Iv stopped here a few times now and it's a lovely little quiet pub. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The owner Steve is a great host. The room are very clean and comfortable. The pub offers fantastic food, all homemade and the breakfast is one of the best iv had in any hotel. If your looking for a nice quiet place to stop for a few night in Dorset you must stay here.
This is a great pub in a lovely area.
The staff are engaging, the food is delicious and the accommodation is clean, warm & cosy.
I will be returning to the Mitre Inn
An authentic village pub not pretending to be anything else. Basic menu well executed. Friendly, attentive but unobtrusive service.
The only downside was the unpleasant smell coming from our bathroom.
Second time stopping at this lovely pub. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The owner is very friendly and welcoming.
Do not miss the full English breakfast, it's spectacular ( you won't need lunch after it ).
I can recommend eating there as well, I had the burger and only just managed to finish it ( big tasty portions).
I would suggest going out in the day but make sure you get back to enjoy the food and just sit back and relax with a nice drink and good people.
