AMAZING STAY! Run by a very cute and welcoming family. They are the 6th generation to run a Ryokan here in this 300 year old building. They are excellent hosts. They serve delicious dinners and breakfasts. The dishes and bowls they use are pieces of art in themselves. The property is full of interesting and skilfully made antiques. Our view from the room was a classic, beautifully manicured garden illuminated by a few stone lanterns. I really recommend you stay here. It is great value and a traditional Japanese Ryokan experice.

Our goal for our trip to Japan was to hike Mount Fuji, but one of the unexpected highlights was our stay at the Kappo Ryokan Uoichi! Post-hike, we moved from Tokyo to Osaka with a stop at the Ryokan in Shimada. Two families (eight of us) stayed at Kappo Ryokan Uoichi and had a wonderful time. The building is a 150-year-old restaurant, and the stay included a shared bedroom with eight futon beds, an adjacent family room, a private bathroom, and a shared onsen. It was by far the best night's sleep I had during the entire trip to Japan. The 12 – 14 course dinner was excellent and served by the super friendly and accommodating staff (they accommodated my meatless diet (fish and seafood are acceptable for my diet and were delicious!) The stay was so peaceful and restful and a nice reprieve from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and the other big cities. It was like a time warp back to when you would sit down with your family and friends and have a great meal with great conversations and no electronic distractions. I highly recommend a stay here and will definitely return again on my next trip.

這是150年的古宅，店主保養得很好，有心思的佈置擺設，早晚餐很美味，魚生很新鮮，距離靜岡機場約15分鐘車程，這也是我選擇其中一個原因。唯一不習慣共用洗手間，整體這家民宿非常整潔，年輕店主夫婦非常友善，有機會再住。
