Such a perfect spot. We took advantage of warm fall weather to kayak, and enjoyed sitting on the dock especially at sunrise. Watched a Bald Eagle feed along the shore. The house is roomy, casual, well loved and welcoming. Nicely stocked kichen and lovely views of the lake. Our dog loved the private yard, and lake too. Incredibly quiet and peaceful and well situated between the two ends of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore on a road ablazz with Fall color. Communication was great, check in and out a breeze. Would definitely come again. Summer must be a blast.

Had a great stay at this lake home. Very close to all the Pictured Rocks sites to see. Lots of things to do at the property itself, kids loved kayaking, swimming and fishing off the pier. Also very nice sunrises from the edge of lake.The family has already asked to go back next summer! Would highly recommend for a peaceful, secluded lakeside vacation rental.

Pictured Rocks Basecamp

Our family of 6 enjoyed our 5-night stay at Nevins Lake. The kitchen, family room, laundry facilities, and bathroom were excellent. Our kids enjoyed the lofted bedroom. The main floor bedrooms are simple but worked well for us. The grounds are spacious, and the view from the back yard is beautiful. We enjoyed the firepit and back patio table, both with lake views. The tiki torches and unlimited firewood made for great times around the fire. The availability of 4 kayaks (1-person each), a canoe, a paddleboat, and a rowboat made it easy for all of us to get out on the water at the same time. Highlights for us included swimming in the lake and fishing (good pike, smallmouth bass, and bluegill fishing; largemouth bass are available as well).The house is closer to the Pictured Rocks attractions than we expected. Our favorites were the Log Slide Overlook, Grand Sable dunes, Hurricane River hike along Lake Superior, Chapel Rock, and Miners Beach/Castle.

Visit to Pictured rocks area

The property is beautiful and peaceful. After a day of hiking and sightseeing it was very nice to come back to such a serene property. My husband, I and our labrador enjoyed the lake, the privacy and all the extra attention to items that were available for our enjoyment ( outdoor fire pit, kayaks, paddle boat, indoor games, well stocked home)

Wonderful property and hosts. We stayed 7 days and enjoyed the lakefront, Pictured Rocks, Munising, and Grand Marais. Great communication with the hosts and plenty to do on the lake. The hosts made sure we had driving directions and arrived safely. The cottage has wonderful views of Nevins Lake and had all the amenities we needed for cooking, relaxing, playing and evening campfires. We hope to come back!

First Family Trip to the U.P.

This was an amazing property. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Nick and Jill have really set this place up for total enjoyment. They have thought of everything, just bring your food and clothes. We enjoyed every minute on the property regardless of heat, rain, or bugs. There was always something to do. Nick and Jill even went out of their way to help me out of a jam with a flat tire. Not something you want to have to deal with all the way out there, but we got it taken care of. Great hosts, beautiful property, couldn’t have asked for anything more. Memories were made that will last a lifetime for us.

Great place to relax!

Our recent stay at the cottage was a beautiful escape into the natural beauty of U.P. The spacious cabin provided a comfortable space, perfect for relaxing. We found everything we needed to prepare meals and be comfortable. The location is between Munising and Grand Marais, so it was very convenient. We did notice that the cleanliness of the property could have been improved. While the home was well-equipped for a comfortable stay, a more thorough cleaning would have made our stay better. Despite this minor setback, we appreciated the generous offerings provided, including kayaks, a canoe, and a rowboat, which allowed us to fully enjoy the peaceful Nevins Lake.One aspect that did affect our outdoor enjoyment was the presence of mosquitoes. While we loved spending time lakeside, it made it a bit challenging to fully relax or engage in activities without some discomfort. We recommend bringing insect repellent to mitigate this issue.Even with these small setbacks, our stay was really great. The host Nick was wonderful, very attentive, and gave recommendations for restaurants and things to do around the area. Overall, this lakeside retreat offered a wonderful opportunity to escape our busy life, and it's a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Had a bit of a hard time finding the house because signs mentioned in directions were covered in snow. All was as advertised. Great location for snowmobiling. Nick was very attentive and answered any questions we had quickly. All in all a great experience!

Great hosts, great vintage cabin

If you've found this place you're likely lost, which is hopefully right where you wanted to be. Nevins lake is a tranquil paradise on the edge of the Pictured Rocks park. Hosts were great, and communication was superb. Parking is well thought-out, and check-in and check-out were very straight-forward. Will be renting again for sure.

Nook on Nevins lake

We very much enjoyed our stay on Nevins Lake at the Nook. Very clean! everything we could need in the kitchen and the bathroom supplied. We were very comfortable, loved the lake, though too cold to get in in November in Michigan. We hope to come back in warmer times and make use of the kayaks! They thought of everything, and were very good to work with, communicate with. We recommend staying here for that much needed quiet break!

Stayed here with our four children for a long fall weekend and had a great time. The kayaks were a hit with the kids as well as having a nightly fire. We hiked chapel falls and Rock which was the second favorite activity. Definitely would return.

Perfect fall getaway

The cabin was everything we expected. And more. It was cold and rainy and windy the week we were up there and we were able to have a fire two of the four nights. We tried to brave the weather and sit at the end of the dock on the bench, but didn’t last very long. The view, however, was spectacular! so is the view sitting in the back porch area looking out over the lake. Nick was very response and answering any questions and giving us suggestions on where to go. We loved this place so much. We’ve already booked it for next year!

SxS riding vacation

Great location for us to ride trails in multiple areas, with easy access. Host was extremely helpful. Wonderful place, beautiful lake, and lots of outdoor amenities to take advantage of.
