The lodge was great. Dropped one star because the windows were small and the room needed to "air-out". No view but still I would stay again based on limited decent places to stay - Cooke City was horrible. TG that this was in Silvergate; 5 minutes down the road from Cooke going west.
We liked the remote location, clean rooms, friendly staff and cute dogs who visited us. It is a great location close to the North East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. We appreciated the newly upgraded room with new beds, carpet and nice bathroom.
Check-in was easy. Comfy bed. Great that it had a fridge. Close walk to breakfast at the Log Cabin Cafe. Only issue was toilet didn't flush very well (Cabin 12). In Grizzly's defense, we didn't mention the issue as we were exhausted from exploring YSP all day and didn't want to have the plumber in the room.
This was a wonderful stay. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. The location you canât be with the beauty of the surrounding area would stay here again better than staying in the park and only a few minutes outside of Lamar Valley.
We loved this place! The bed was comfortable and it is a really rustic cabin. The only things I didnât care for (and they would not stop me from staying here again) no kitchen towels, no kitchen soap, one side of the bed was against the wall, making it hard to get out to potty & the hot water to the shower lasted about 30 seconds. I know this had something to do with the type of water heater being used (heat as it goes) but I like constant warm water.
It was really nice sitting outside along the water watching for wildlife. If we go back to Yellowstone we would definitely consider this place being our home base.
Ran by super friendly people, perfect location to the national park for early morning wildlife spotting. Spacious and clean room. Campfire lit and maintained in the evening made for a relaxing night enjoying the scenery!
Had a few unfortunate mistakes but the staff was very friendly and the issues didnât take away from the experience of staying here. I think they had a misunderstanding with Expedia because when we got into our cabin it wasnât cleaned yet. We let them know and they were very apologetic and and said they would have it clean as soon as possible, when we returned they walked us through the cabin to make sure it was clean to our liking. I think the cabin was due for maintenance or something cause the shower pressure was very weak, I took a video and showed it to the front desk and they confirmed something was wrong. But i had already finished showering so it wasnât a big deal for me. But even with those issues our stay was great, we stayed at one of the cabins right on the river and it was very nice. The cabin itself was loaded with dishes and cookware and is close to some really good food.
This is located minutes from the Yellowstone remote NE gate in the very small town of Silver Gate. Staff are friendly and accommodating and our rooms were clean and ready. The showers are not always hot but it is understandable based on the remote location and obvious limitations operating in a remote area. We enjoyed our stay here.
The lodge is located in a pristine area. The staff was very friendly and comminicated well. The rooms are cozy and have everything you would need. The best was the comfiest bed I've ever slept on!
If you are looking to get completely off grid but you still want indoor plumbing and heating, this place is perfection. The location is absolutely breathtaking in views and atmosphere. The entire town of Silver Gate has a population of around 100. They have a general store and a small cafe right across the street but I recommend stocking up on essentials for your stay.
