Very nice property overall. Not actually on the beach but very close with a few houses, (Bunga Loose) being in front and blocking much of the views. Staff is absolutely great. We had ocean views with a private rooftop plunge pool. Would stay again.
The staff is consistent and considerate, We dont speak spanish but we always work it out, Maintenence does a great job pools and landscaping are beautifully cared for.
front desk staff and kichen and servers, always have a smile and kindness. I was here in February and came back to Kaana surf for a week, because they do an amazing job!
Service was poor and the rooms did not meet what was described online. The power went out for over 12 hours and there was no water in the until. Ants, mosquitoes and flys were in the room and bed. I would not recommend to ever stay here
The staff is so nice and helpful, I will recommend to hotel to anyone who wants to rest in a quiet hotel, food at the restaurant was amazing, Salvador the Supervisor excellent and Jose the restaurant supervisor amazing, there is nothing bad or wrong about the Hotel, my suggestion to Salvador will be tips should be individually instead of putting the tips in a Jar at the front desk
The property was overall nice but there is very limited view of the ocean as most of the property is blocked in front by new buildings. The website shows older pictures that do not show the new buildings blocking the view and there is continued new construction creating a mess to walk through from the Kaâana gate to the beach. This wouldnât have been so disappointing if they were honest in their advertisement and description of the property and rooms. I paid a premium price for a master suite with ocean view. There was no view of the ocean at all. They did move us to a smaller room on the end where you could see the ocean (also overlooking the cemetery!) but they still charged us for the full price of the master suite AND more because they had a higher conversion rate from Quetzals to USD ( I was charged about $60 more than the price I booked for and was given a room that should have been $50 less per night) I was originally told we would be charged the lesser rate but they didnât follow through.
As well, the room needed cleaning, we had to ask for towels, and to have the sheets changed (they had ink marks on the pillow cases). They did attend to the cleaning needs quickly when we asked, but I shouldnât have had to ask!
The staff were very nice and helpful. They made the stay good (thanks Emily and Jose!) But due to the poor management (mgr did not compensate or show any care about the overcharge), lack of cleanliness, and false advertising, I would caution booking here.
