The place is nice and large, has a dinning area that accommodates 10, and the kitchen is large and well stocked. We had 9 guys stay there and it was a bit crowded for sleeping arrangements (7 would be about perfect) but made it work. Christine was very quick to respond and provided additional items upon request. We will stay here again on our next fishing trip to Sitka.
The pictures and the loft overall is really nice. If lists as sleeping 10 but I would say the listing should be 6. The early communication was fine but the day before showing up got an email with all the restrictions on arrival and departure times and not arriving early or checking out late. Which if you havenât been to Sitka, your transportation is limited so if your flight times are off from their arrival and checkout times you are out of luck. The email and the book state they are willing to accommodate you for early or late check out but that is definitely not the case. We liked the place but the property management was disappointing and honestly quite difficult.
Iâm very happy with the whole experience from the space, location and people. Jake and his wife Joy were so helpful and generous, so much that weâve become friends đ
We stayed here for our last few days in Sitka before reluctantly moving away after a two year stay. For us, the Loft captured everything that is special about living and working on the water in Sitka, with commercial and sport fishing boats, float planes, and even Coast Guard cutters motoring by all day long in the harbor in front of a picturesque island and mountain backdrop. The loft itself was very clean, spacious, and very well laid out, feeling much more like a 3 bedroom rental for a one bedroom cost. Without a doubt the Loft will be our first choice for future visits back to the town we love so much!
Absolutely awesome place, wonderful people, nice location ! Highly recommend it for a great time.
This was the first VRBO I have used and the experience was wonderful. The loft was very clean and spacious. Nice location, could walk downtown to Sitka. Barbara the manager was wonderful and very gracious to us. Overall experience was awesome, no complaints at all.
This place was perfect for our get away as a couple. The hospitality Barb provided was beyond expectation- she is a treasure. The Quay was extremely well maintained and had the best stocked kitchen for cooking I have found in any other rental. It was nice to be able to go to the local grocery stores (best one being a few miles North outside of town) and cook many of our meals. It was wonderful to have kayaks and bikes at our disposal when you would typically have to rent these. The kayaking was fabulous. And the location is optimum in Sitka- just a few minutes walk to the heart of downtown. Being on the dock we wondered what the noise level would be. But this was a very quiet stay outside of some passing boat noise and the expected seagulls- sounds that just add to the location's romance. There is one master and one other small bedroom with two beds. So while this rental could fit quite a few in the main room pull outs etc, it would be close quarters. This would be perfect for a family or two couples traveling together if one couple didn't mind the small bedroom, having a curtain for a door, and pushing the beds together. Bottom line is, for a couple, I doubt you would find anything better or more charming in Sitka or most travel destinations.
