Problems with the unit:
1) The toilet backs up continuously. Even is just urine, from day one.
2) The bathroom sink faucet is clogged and sprays all over the place.
3) The cover on the light in the ceiling fan is missing
4) some drawers are off tracks
5) dishes were greasy
6) The pots and pans are very disorganized
7) We were never told about cards for hot tubes. We had to drive down to figure it out.
8) The couch is not fit to sleep on!!
9) The ancient stove should be replaced. Burners crooked
10) kitchen utensils should be looked over. Some broken.
I had a place in the Summit for thirty-five years. I still enjoyed my stay. these are things you might want to consider!
Had a great weekend at Snowshoe. Silver Creek location is great for hitting night skiing and you can just grab a bus to the village. Check in was easy, communication was fantastic.
I read the reviews before we rented and expected a crazy tiny place with lots of outside noise. What we found instead was an absolutely great place that I'd stay in for sure again. It was the size of a standard hotel room. Even with the beds out, there was room to move around, luggage, ski stuff and we brought A LOT. The buildng has luggage carts and you can park outside the front door while you bring your stuff in, so it was easy to cart everything up. The kitchen had a decent enough array of cooking stuff to do what you needed - and a microwave which I hadn't realized it would have. Nearly right across from the room was the stairs that led to right outside the pool door so it was super easy to go down to the pool/hottub/sauna everyday. There was also an elevator not too far away. Everything was crazy convenient. and I'm so glad we stayed there.
The room was small and there were greasy utensils that I got out of the drawer. The phone didnt work. I could not make a call out and the internet/WIFI was very spoty and didnt work half the time and we had to switch which wifi we were connected too.
Pros:
-Snowshoe is a great, family oriented ski resort
-Every single person we encountered that worked at Snowshoe in any and every capacity was friendly and helpful
-The unit is located on the 1st floor and is very convenient to the Silver Creek ski slopes, tubing park, equipment rental and the onsite restaurant
-The unit was very clean and was well-stocked with towels, toiletries and dishes
-The lobby areas are clean, though outdated
-Property management company is friendly and responsive
Cons:
-There is absolutely no cell service long before you get to the mountain so GPS on your phone is useless and getting lost without a GPS is practically a certainty
-Although the facility has quiet hours late at night, they are not enforced. The night skiiers at silver creek turn the place into a party area late at night and the location of the unit makes it almost impossible to sleep through the partying until 2 am. The staff at silver creek tried to get the quiet hours enforced but it was almost impossible
-The unit is incredibly small. The pictures make it look much larger than it actually is. When the murphy bed is down, there is not room for two people to walk at the same time. It was just one adult and one small child on our trip and we were extremely cramped.
-The unit is very outdated. It is clean but old and has not been updated in quite some time.
-The "couch" is not a couch but is actually a small 2 cushion loveseat
-Bring lots of cash because the restaurant and the on-site store are incredibly expensive, even by resort standards.
-The provided walkie-talkies (which are a must-have on a mountain with such limited cell service did not work)
Small but well appointed unit. We had three with toddler and it was a tight fit. Wouldnât recommend for a long trip but perfect for weekend last minute. Unit was clean but dated.
Property was very clean. Very cute room with a pull down bed & a double couch with bed. Nice size for 2 adults and a child. Nice pool and loved having a restaurant within the facility.
