Green Plains Cabin

The Space
Located on 66 acres of rolling farmland and wooded countryside, this restored log cabin - built circa 1855 - is rustic but not the least bit primitive. A massive stone fireplace makes relaxing in the winter cozy. Enjoy your morning coffee along with a beautiful view of Ohio farmland from the screened-in porch. Jump into the outdoor shower or hot tub after a day of hiking or shopping in nearby Yellow Springs. Centrally located, the Cabin is just 20 minutes from Dayton and 50 minutes from Columbus.
This 19th century log cabin - original to the property - was dismantled and restored in 1989. Various updates over the years keep the Cabin fresh without compromising its rustic qualities.
Guest Access
The Cabin is located on a working hay farm and home to 40 head of American Bison. Guests may walk the property, enjoy the hot tub located a few yards from the Cabin and fish in the catch-and-release pond. There is a charcoal grill and charcoal provided for outside cooking, an outdoor shower, and a fire pit nearby is a fun place to roast marshmallows and tell stories.
Two bicycles on site are available for guests who want to ride the Ohio to Erie bike trail, which is just a mile from the farm entrance.

The Cabin is a homey, comfortable place — nothing fussy, nothing untouchable. We expect you to put your feet up, take a deep breath and relax while you’re there.

Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items
Lock the doors
Toss soiled towels in the bathtub, leave sheets on beds for me to strip.
Leave lights and appliances plugged in and turned on.
Return hot tub temperature to 104 degrees, cabin thermostat to 72 degrees.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Rules

SHOWER WITH SOAP AND WATER before using the hot tub.
Put PLATE WASTE and FOOD SCRAPS down garbage disposal or in the compost bin; rinse food containers before placing in trash or recycle bins.
Pet fee is $35 PER PET per stay
