Beautiful hotel property in South Lake Tahoe

Booked one night through Hotels.com to see a concert at Caesars Republic Amphitheater, which is so conveniently located right across the street. Parking is valet only. We arrived around 2:30 pm on a Saturday afternoon for a 4:00 pm check-in time, and to my surprise we were able to check-in early with no early check-in fee. The check-in desk staff were friendly and the lady staffer explained all the amenities for the hotel. The atmosphere and decor was beautiful. Light and breezy feeling like you're at a beach resort. The style of the hotel looked very familiar and later researched that it was originally an Embassy Suites, which we had stayed at in Atlanta, GA a couple of years ago. Our room was on the 7th floor towards the back of the hotel. Room was spacious clean and quiet. Nice separate TV living room with a table for four and a individual coffee cup maker, ice bucket, small refrigerator, safe, and two complimentary water bottles. King-size bed was firm and comfortable and another big screen tv in the bedroom. Bathroom was spacious and clean. We would definitely stay here again on another visit. Just expect to pay an additional $50 hotel resort fee, $40 valet fee, $7 Resort Fee Tax 14%, and California Tourism Fee $0.10 for a total of $97.10 for one night's stay at checkout.

Great ambience with very convenient location (right in the middle of the city). Rooms are spacious with all the facilities like bath tub, steamer, hair dryer, etc. They provide valet parking at 40 USF per day, which I felt is slightly expensive given the amount of hotel booking.

Overpriced grimy room

The check-in employee was unpleasant. The room appeared to be clean until we used the bathroom and our clean socks became quickly filthy. The shower curtain smelled of mildew, the shower and sink was newer but already grimy from months of not being cleaned very well. All it needed was a good cleaning and some bleach. The floors were dirty and we bought slippers at target to avoid. I was both surprised and disappointed given the reviews. Disappointed in the cost and value as well.

Parking sucks for that large of resort. Maybe 800 to 900 rooms and less than 40 parking spots. So you have to pay for Valet parking. No options. Will not stay again. They send out a notice after you make a reservation that limit parking so use Valet. But they don’t say what or if you have to pay. Stay next door!
