We ended up here after weather related flight cancellations; many other properties were booked. On the plus side: The staff was kind. The rate was fair. The Hotel was clean and well maintained. I appreciate modern decor and design but I just don’t get the vibe of this hotel which, I suppose, is designed to appeal to a younger techy set. The lobby area is more like a bar scene. If you are trying to squeeze in work, there’s nowhere to run from the loud music. The room is clean but utilitarian. No desk to sit at (except for a tiny and very lightweight aluminum folding table with a folding backless camping style chair). No luggage rack or place to slip a suitcase so you don’t stumble over it. A couple of hooks for your clothes with only 4 clothes hangers. And if you want to escape the music in the bar by retreating to your room, your only option is to sit in your bed. There is no chair to lounge or relax in. Clearly the room is designed to only sleep in; if you want to work, read or lounge, you will have to go to the bar. And if working or reading or lounging without thumping music is not your thing , you’re out of luck. I know there is a whole universe of people whom this appeals to; I just don’t happen to be one of them.

The property was clean, walkable to restaurants and pretty funky in a good way. Only complaint I have is I paid for a King room, months in advance and they claimed to not have any left upon arrival. They charged my card, after I had already paid for my room. Decent stay, next time would go elsewhere.

Book Carefully-Odd/Uncomfortable Room Set Ups

The Moxy has a cool vibe and great staff. It is in a great location close to several dining options and Mo. State. BUT the double queen room has no chair/desk/minifridge. You get your own iron etc from a shared storage closet. The queen beds are head to head, against the wall. This means you have to CLIMB OVER your spouse to get out of bed. The Moxy charged is for parking without telling us. We ended up leaving the second night bc it wasn’t comfortable. I called to get my parking refunded, as we were not told and didn’t stay. They said they would refund the parking and room, but we are still waiting. I’d give it another shot in a different style room, if they honor their word.

Such a fun place to stay! The staff were great - friendly and accomodating. The building is awesome! Rooftop bar was fantastic. Downstair bar and games created a fun and relaxed area. The hotel was in walking distance to great restaurants and downtown area.

The Moxy is my preferred Springfield hotel.

I’m in Springfield often for business and the Moxy is always my pick. Staff are great, both bars are good, and the rooms are nice. (It’s a little weird the rooms don’t come with chairs… but front of house will bring you one if you ask.) Property has a great scent program as well, I know that’s a weird call-out, but seriously, the place smells fantastic. Denis the GM is always active and around, and their F&B manager is great as well. Bar staff rock, and it’s close walking distance to restaurants.
