This was our first time staying in the St. Augustine area. This home sits across the bridge from historic St. Augustine in an older neighborhood called Davis Shores. The home was about a 1.2 mile walk across the lions bridge into the historic downtown and about a 2 1/2 mile drive to the Anastasia State Park Beach. Parking downtown during spring break was nearly impossible. Walking downtown from the home would be really tough with young kids if the weather was very hot as there is very little shade. Overall, we enjoyed the home and the pool. The home was fairly well stocked with hard plastic, dinnerware, and basic spices and necessities; however, there were no shower, gels or body washes in either of the two bathrooms. We did appreciate that there were umbrellas, beach towels, and sand toys to take to the beach. The pots and pans also need to be updated as they were quite scratched, and I didnât like using nonstick cookware that was so damaged.Overall, I prefer to be in a home where itâs easier to get to the beach or to the downtown area and this was neither so it was just not my vibe.
