Very nice and clean. Plenty of amenities in kitchen area. Loft atmosphere is loud for people sleeping upstairs outside of room. We did run out of toilet paper after day two. Living room area good size. Nice little backyard area for dogs. 20 minute walk to downtown area. 4.5 rating.
Wonderful trip. Loved the accommodations. Only drawback was that there was not enough comfortable seating for 5 adults in the living area nor out side on the deck. ( only 2 chairs outside).
We had a wonderful trip! The house is in a safe area, is super clean and comfortable and is also convenient to the historic district. We will definitely book again!
It was nice to have a home base while being tourists in St. Augustine, especially with a four-year old. The house was cute and functional for our stay. The spiral staircase was a little scary to the four-year old at first, but by day two, he was up and down without issue. According to the listing, we should have been able to leave the car and walk to most of the locations we were visiting: the Fort and the Ancient Cityâs Downtown. We made the decision to drive to the Visitor Center and use that lot after mapping out walking with distances and times. The location of the house did mean that I experienced places that Iâd never explored before as in the past, weâve driven in from elsewhere using A1A or Rte.1. The neighborhood is very busy with walkers and joggers which speaks to its safety and walkability. Overall though, happy with our stay and the location of the house.
This home is so whimsical and fun and really could earn five stars with some very minor modifications. The location is terrific and the home is very comfortable. I stayed with my teenage twin daughters and my cousins who were also in town for the wedding spent time with us there making it a great girlsâ weekend.
Renter Beware - Active Construction Site Next Door
Arrived at the home in historic St. Augustine to find out that a construction crew was rebuilding a home next door. The crew worked Monday through Friday, 8 am to 3:30 PM creating noise and privacy issues thus making our planned 30 day stay untenable. The construction was on the bedroom side of the house. We had no privacy and could not enjoy the backyard because the lots are so close together and the noise from the sawing and hammering was so incredibly loud. We immediately notified the property manager that staying at this property was untenable and we would like to be relocated. They said, âthere really was not much they could doâ and twice told us to call the police. We then escalated the situation to VRBO, sent them videos of the loud construction and told them that we needed to relocate and wanted to negotiate a refund. VRBO understood our situation, refunded their portion of the rental fees and tried to negotiate a refund, but the property management company stated there would be nothing from their end. Only after we vacated the property and escalated with VRBO did property management message us about possible relocation. In our opinion, it was very disappointing that property managementâs first response was for us to âcall the policeâ and not âhow can they help usâ.
We loved the Location, Beds & Hot Showers! The unique modern meets Montana theme appealed to us & was especially apropos for our wintertime visit. The Lincolnville location was quiet & perfect for exploring all of St Augustine by foot or ride share. The neighborhood has a ton of history & we recommend you build this into your plan to explore it. The beds were heavenly & like sleeping on a cloud! We were grateful for the great nights rest to start the NY refreshed! Our family (2 sibling couples & Mom) used the entire space which is reflected in our experience. The home description could be made more clear regarding the layout of bedrooms & bathrooms. Mom had 2nd story loft bed which offers no privacy, light & noise from first floor & she had to use the en-suite bathrooms during sleep hrs which was ok for us but could be awkward for guests not aware the setup. After long days exploring by foot, we found ourselves competing for a comfy space to gather as family. The sofa is best for 2-3 persons comfortably. Others had to sit on DR chairs. Overall we found the cleanliness of the home ok & a refresh of the kitchen needed to make it complete as described. We were expecting a nespresso machine as advertised, however, there wasnât one. The cutting knives were like butter knives. We had to scrub 2 pans with a tired used sponge (&no spares) to be able to use them & there was no dish soap, only hand soap & DW pods. We recommend & would stay again as a couple or 2.
Highly recommend this property! It is very well appointed, well supplied, and in a great location. It is a short drive or reasonable walk to the historic district.
Never been here but the friends thought it would be fun. It was. The property is close to a lot. We couldnât figure out the TV- but was a blessing, we didnât need that noise! The BEDS were wonderful. Had a minor problem with password for WiFi but was my non-tech understanding but was contacted by the property person and got it solved very fast. Great property and stay, would definitely stay there again. Thank you Whitefish lodge, we loved your decorations
Property was as described in listing.
It was clean and cute. Downtown not a far walk.
Neighborhood was quiet, except for some construction remodeling on house next door.
Not on the weekend though.
Communication was quick and easy thru the app. And they were very accommodating. if you are going with more than 2 people, and want to sit out back on the deck, I would suggest bringing a couple of outdoor bag chairs. Because we loved the back deck area!
Overall the house was a great stay and had everything we needed!
The house does smell musty and the AC was not adjustable. There was no way to adjust the temp. Other than that, the house was clean and had everything we needed. Decor is fun and whimsy!
This cool house is super comfortable, tasteful and unique! It is well-equipped and we loved the space and accomodations along with the excellent location, walking distance to the historic district, great food and great fun!
