This place was head and shoulders above the Premier Inns in the UK. I use the chain for work fairly frequently and for pleasure occasionally so I have a good idea what to expect, most are OK, a few are better and a few are poor. This one in St Helier however was exceptional. The price was very reasonable. It was very clean and airy, the young staff were exceptionally helpful and very nice. The breakfast was well cooked. Shower heat was easy to control. It was everything we wanted for a long weekend. The only slight negative from my point of view was the bath, it was a bit shallow for my tastes as I like a good wallow.
I wasnât super impressed with this hotel. The first room I was given had a horrible chemical smell coming from the bathroom. I turned on the fan full throttle, but it didnât clear if even after running all night. I let the front desk person know in the morning before I left for the day. When I returned, they moved me to a different room because they hadnât been able to get the engineer to come to their location despite having 8 hours to do so. The sink drain holes in both rooms were blocked so water filled up to the overflow in the sink while I was washing my face or hands.
I signed up to have breakfast included in my room fee - it was cheap, but you get what you pay for. Food was meh and they didnât have allergens clearly marked - you had to go ask for the binder that was behind the front desk.
