Staff were very friendly, breakfast was really good listening to the sound of crashing waves. My room though in a separate building was spacious and had a full kitchen. I would return and do recommend Dover Beach Hotel.

This is a no frills hotel in a great location. My only complaint is that my room was not ready at 4 pm when we arrived. We sat in the hot lobby with all our stuff until 4:40 pm. For me, room not ready at checkin time is unacceptable.

The staff were very professional and helpful, especially the front desk and the Sea Grape restaurant. The pool and grounds were well kept. The room was cheerfully decorated but very tired, especially the kitchenette and the bathroom. The housekeeping staff did a good job on the regular daily cleaning, however the high touch surfaces (door handle areas and cupboards were in need of attention). Overall it was fine for the price point.

Place is an old school hotel which had some minor upgrades. The tv had no sound on all channels but BBC. Maintenance guy #1 could not fix it, #2 fed us some bs about the signal, #3 actually fixed it by unplugging the box and plugging back in, which i had to do constantly. The shower had a little better than lukewarm water. No face cloths in the room. The restaurant had fairly good food if you had an eternity to wait for it. One lunch took an hour, one day breakfast was the same. Staff was friendly as lumps of coal. In order to use the stove which was gas, you have to light it with a match! They give you some short little strike on the box matches, half of which didn't work. Grounds were o.k. In short, looked nothing like what was portrayed in the pictures on the Travelocity website.
