My husband and I had a lovely couple of days here. The neighborhood is great and the space itself is great, too. Itâs very cozy and cute. The only thing I would warn people about is that the shower is kind of small, so plan accordingly if you are taller or larger.
If I had known this would be a basement apartment, I would not selected it with all the recent and forecasted rain. The apartment was too cold for me to be comfortable. I needed to know how far the residence was from the train station, but he did not respond to my email until after I arrived. The people upstairs has several children and everyone including the adults were all very noisy. Between the noise and the cold, I got very little sleep during my stay. I was miserable. This was not worth what I paid for it. Next time, I will get a hotel.
This place was very cute! The noise of upstairs tenants is a little intense so I donât recommend if youâre a light sleeper. However the location was great and we had no trouble with surrounding guests and natives. It was uniquely decorated and cozy. I will say the floors were a tad dirty, and there were cobwebs on the ceiling and window sills. Also the shower is extremely small and leaky. All small issues and we enjoyed our 2 night stay!
The property and neighborhood are great and as advertised. Some items to note: I am 6 foot 3 inches tall, this is a basement unit and some of the air ducts are at 6 feet causing me to duck all during the stay. Plus the shower is very small not allowing you to bend down to wash your legs very well. There also is no toaster in the unit. We could live with all these items, but gave 4 stars instead of 5 because of it. The unit is decorated very nicely.
I stayed one night at the Fox's Den with my 17 year old son. It was uncomfortable from the very first moment we stepped in - complete darkness with no indication of where the light switches could be located (far from the entrance, on the other side of the room). The space is a lot smaller than the photos make it seem. The hosts have certainly taken a lot of care in branding this listing, as there are tons of foxes and woodland accessories, but very little attention paid to the actual comfort of the guests. The pull-out sofa is tiny and strange, and you have to move furniture to make it into a bed. There are a million rules posted everywhere, but no meaningful instructions, like how to work the televisions or how to keep the shower from leaking. Neither of the televisions would turn on, which was disappointing after a long day of driving. The host stopped responding to my questions directly after we checked in. The last impression of the place was that the host didn't communicate that I would get a parking violation for parking in front of the house on the first Wednesday of the month, which is apparently street cleaning day. As a person traveling from out of state there was no way for me to know about this situation. So, I now have to pay a fine that could have been avoided very easily with a quick heads-up. Over all our stay was very annoying. Would not recommend.
Property was exactly as described. Very fast and easy communication with Tony. Location was in close proximity to everything we needed. Super clean and super cozyâŠ.. felt right at home!!!! Going back next December, and would stay here again but it is already booked for the dates we need :)
Cute and cozy! It is much smaller than it looks in the pictures though, especially the shower. We could also hear the people above us walking pretty well (they did provide earplugs & white noise machine though!) and the window was open without our knowledge the first night, causing it to be very cold. Still a great stay overall!
Place was adorable as can be, very easy to locate, location was perfect for our stay. It was great for what we needed, a place to sleep for the night. Thank you!
We decided to try this Vrbo place due to us needing to make multiple visits to St Louis for our son who is having surgery at the local childrenâs hospital and we live 4 hours away. It was a nice check in process, the place was well kept, had everything we needed just for the night and much more cozy we felt like than a hotel room. Would highly recommend this place!
Great Location for an Affordable Price!
This VRBO is located in the Shaw neighborhood with many delicious coffee shops, restaurants, and bars in walking distance along with Tower Grove Park & the Missouri Botanical Gardens. I wish we could have explored longer.
My daughter and I enjoyed our stay even though it was short! Fox Den is in a great location with several eateries in close distance! The bed is cozy and such a cute space! Iâll be booking another stay soon! Thank you!
Property was perfect for the two of us. Enjoyed walking the neighborhood and parks nearby. Owners were cordial & helpful with questions & genuinely cared about their guests
