Not worth the cost

Stayed at the hotel for a conference. I relied on the reviews to books this hotel. Nope. The entire room hand an odor of musty feet, like the carpet needed cleaning. The bathroom in our room was dirty. I had to ask twice for the bathroom to be cleaned. The night manager was rude when I showed him the pictures of the urine around the bottom of the toilet. Understanding the hotel was full and he was likely overwhelmed. There was a half roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. We had to use box tissue the last day to wipe because we could not get a new roll. It took 1.5 hours to get food at the bar, 1 hour to get a cup of coffee and sandwich from the Starbucks in the hotel. Waited in line for 45 minutes for check-in.

The hotel was not staffed appropriately for a conference of 4200 women. From housekeeping to the restaurant, service was unacceptable. While the housekeeping staff worked hard and were nice and accommodating, you cannot expect to service a 970 facility with 30 housekeepers. There should also not be a hour wait at the restaurant just to have your order taken. Contracts show the anticipated demand in advance and it is management that should ensure enough staff to allow for a more efficient and effective guest experience.

Check in time? Never heard of it

We showed up at 5:30pm to get into our room. We had some where to be at 7 and was barely going to have time to shower and change since we had been traveling all day. There was soooo many people in there when we arrived because of a volleyball tourny. I went to check in and the lady was like yea your room aint ready. It will be like 30-45 mins. We come back at 55 mins and it still wasnt ready and with very little sympathy from the hostess. We spent alot of money for a room we couldnt even use. Had to pay $40 for parking and no internet with tornado warnings everywhere. I bought the advanced Wi-Fi for our room so we could get ahold of family and it was just for one phone not the whole room. I couldn't believe it. I have never wrote a bad review on a business but this was crazy. I know things happen and showing some kind of sympathy for our situation would have been nice. instead we got "oh well attitudes"

Expected more from a Marriott property.

First two nights, I was given no housekeeping service. Items missing in room. Hotel restaurant not very good and out of items. Ordered one meal, was delivered another. Just not "Marriott" standard in my opinion.

Great stay while attending convention

Check in was a breeze, staff very friendly. Rooms were comfortable and updated. Quiet sleeping conditions. Right across the street from convention center and walking distance to lots of downtown restaurants. Also a 15 min walk to City Museum. So no need for a car.
