Wonderful location. Great shops and restaurants to walk to. Golf cart was the most fun to get around. So many amenities that made this trip easy peasy. Two coolers provided. Beach chairs and toys. Beach towels. We needed to bring very little to make for a perfect vacation. Thank you!

This property was awesome! Everything was exactly as described on the VRBO site including the photos. All areas were clean upon arrival. The pool was a great addition and we used it almost everyday or evening. There isn't a railing so guests just need to be aware of that if anyone has balance issues when getting out of the pool.Beach access is across the street which was convenient when wanting to go and watch the sunset. This was our first stay in the month of March so the entire beach area was busier then normal. We opted not to use the golf cart that was included which was fine as we ended up not wanting to use it to go anywhere. We could either walk to restaurants or stores that were close by.There were no bug issues either in this unit, not even a spider which is usually common anytime in FL.We love this property and will be checking to see if its available for our next trip.

Very clean and soo spacious!! We absolutely loved everything! The pool was great, and we loved the golf cart sooo much! The beds are so comfy and we felt right at home!! Also such a quick walk to the beach, we can’t wait to stay here again!

Family vacation

Great location! We enjoyed close restaurants and ice cream. Also it was an easy walk to the beach. The wagon needs a little grease or upgrading though. Upon arrival the counters and table were not clean and had sticky stuff on them... so had to wipe everything down right off the bat.The primary bathroom is way too small! No where to put anything and the toilet doesn't flush very well. Not a nice shower like the other bathroom. It may have been newly renovated a couple of years ago, but I would not say new now. There is a hole in the wall in the primary closet, i didn't like that. The entry way to the building is unfinished and the raw wood stairs are not great on bare feet. The primary bed is very firm, not great for sore hips and shoulders and if your a side sleeper. If you are staying in the lower floor condo, you will hear all the walking from upstairs.Also, more bath towels would be helpful and maybe some new ones. The 3 that were there were stained and falling apart. The pool was great when it was just our family, it is not a big enough pool for multiple families.

Hidden Gem - Almost Perfect

Nice place and a great location for families. Clean, Comfy beds, and generally well maintained. 2 min walk to the beach. Easy to get around. Enjoyed the pool at the end of the day and the golf cart for a quick trip or two to get ice cream. Noise from second floor neighbors was a challenge once or twice at night, but not terrible. Noise machines provided helped. Beach supplies could use updating, which is pretty common. Plenty of services available to rent supplies or buy. The provided cooler was a lifesaver. Thank you. Would recommend and rent again.

Family Vacation

We stayed at the Chunky Mermaid and have nothing but wonderful things to say. We loved having the golf cart to ride around in and thought the location was perfect and made everything we wanted to do so easy. Cleanliness is huge for us and it was so clean! We will be back!

Wonderful and comfortable stay

We loved our stay here. The condo was exactly as described. It was welcoming and comfortable! The location was great-a short walk to the beach and restaurants. The golf cart was fun, and we used it a few times to get to local restaurants. We also enjoyed the pool-it was a nice alternative when we didn’t want to return to the beach. We enjoyed our stay and hope to be back!

This find was a rare unknown. Located centrally to all areas of our trip plans made it that much more easier! Caleb was a great host and communicated very well with before and after directions for check in and check out. The condo is beautifully decorated and so much so my husband took pictures so we can pursue the theme in our own home. Convenience of the washer and dryer now we nice. The bedrooms were more than we expected and huge..I didn't realize that the one room has two queen beds. One other thing to note is that you are block walk to one of the best bars Cocos Crush Bar and Grill which makes a great night out!

Family Get Away

We rented both units for a great family get away. The Chunky Mermaid is as lovely as shown in the photos and is well equipped for a week’s stay. The location to the beach and local stores was perfect. The pool area is very spacious and everything you need to enjoy the pool and beach is provided in the garage. In addition to the two units on the property, the pool is also shared with the 2 neighboring units which are also Caleb’s. Caleb was very responsive to our questions. We would return in the future.

An amazing find for a beach getaway!

This property is amazing for a beach getaway! The owner/host is so kind, helpful, and communicative. The house itself had everything we needed like towels and beach chairs for the beach. It truly was like staying in our own personal house with how it was furnished. It’s just across the street from the beach and the pool was a great amenity when we were tired of the beach. Will recommend this property to everyone!

Property is great you can tell they put lots of heart and soul into providing what guests need even had small shampoos , blow dryer etc. it was spotless! There is even an elevator from ground level. the pool is beautiful. We were in bottom apt so a little noisy from guests foot steps upstairs. Our host Caleb was most informative ! Not ocean front but 1 block from beach access but was very nice and quiet since not on main road. Walkable to restaurants , great location.

What a FANTASTIC place to stay! Caleb was a great host and answered any questions we had very promptly. Great location within walking distance of beach, restaurants, shopping, sunrises and sunsets. All rooms were very spacious and clean! We will definitely be back!

Practically Perfect!

Except for the fact that VRBO didn't get us our check in information things were great. That was corrected quickly and easily with a call to our host. Caleb has put a lot of thought into guest comfort. Almost everything we needed was in the condo. We were less than a block from the awesome Indian Rocks Beach. Also less than a block from the awesome Cafe de Paris. This place is the real deal. Also highly recommend going down beach just a bit to Guppy's. Yum.

So relaxing! Anniversary/Fam vacation

Beautiful Stay at the Chunky Mermaid. decorated beautifully and very clean. Everything you can need for a great beach vacation. Stores like Walmart and Publix just a short drive away for essentials. We enjoyed making breakfast there in the morning and then enjoying lunch or dinner out. Pool is great out back. There's a tree that unfortunately sheds a lot and so we did have to skim the pool when we used it. But host did have cleaners come out on schedule while we where there. This place fit our family of 4 adults very very well. Very spacious. We loved watching the sunsets from the front balcony too. and all the beach and pool things to use in the garage where fantastic. you can walk right to the beach and to eat, rent bikes or golf carts and have tons of fun. neighborhood is quiet and clean. Fans in closets where appreciated since we love to sleep w sound on. AC was wonderful. Beds comfy. Looking forward to booking w Caleb again, he was tan amazing and attentive host.
