We have stayed here twice in 3 years because of the great location, view, and amenities. This unit is very affordable and comfortably supports a family of four. The other tennants were fun to interact with. My favorite part of this unit is the balcony. With that said I don't think we will stay here again because it was dirty. The carpets were wrecked, corners were scuzzy, fixtures were dusty. My 1yo son's knees were black after crawling on the floor. On a positive note, we were able to teach him how to walk by the end of our stay...

Great pool&location

The pool and location was great! No chairs at pool need to bring your own. The condo was doable BUT very dirty! The carpet had many stains, comforter and pillows on bed dirty. When we got there the toilet was running- no kitchen towel or washcloth for dishes had to buy our own, dish soap was 75% watered down- really needs updated. Unless you have a streaming service tv (which we do not) was a no go. Could not watch anything on local tv. Stove took 20 minutes to heat up. Elevator very slow. Tried going to office a few times and no one was ever there during office hours. Coin operated washer and dryer on walkway for everyone to use

Came into town the Oct 26. Called and went to property, talked to Lynn at John’s pass condos. We were seeing if the property was good after the hurricanes. She put us off til Monday, to call again and talk to Jim. Talked to Jim, who said Lynn was off on Mondays. And had to handle our cancellation. Again, on Tuesday, Lynn insisted that this was Jim’s job to help us. She gave him message to call us. He did not. Called on Thursday, and said the word refund to Lynn, and she went off yelling that they don't give refunds, then she hung up on me, after she stated that she gave Jim the message and that’s all she could do. So we decided, if we couldn’t do a refund, we would stay in the 4 th floor condo. That there shouldn’t be damage. On Friday,Stu called, and Lynn (out of a New York office), about our check in, was happy to help, and after a short hold, came back and said that condo wasn’t open for stays. She said for us to get a refund, from our insurance we purchased thru Vrbo, to contact you. We are finding this difficult to process.please tell us how to go about it.

But


So, much like some of the other reviews mentioned, the carpet is utterly filthy. It really wouldn’t take much to replace it with hard flooring. And like others have said, the cold water faucet handle in the bathroom that falls off is an easy fix for any handy man. Just fix it. I saw a review that mentioned a roach underneath the kitchen sink in the cabinet, which was Still there when I got there so I took the 10 seconds to actually throw it out. Besides the carpet and the bathroom faucet, neither of which takes away from the amazing location, the condo was as described. The balcony has an amazing view over the pool and the Gulf as well as the convenience of everything in walking distance. There are beach chairs in the condo to use. Since they say you can’t take the bath towels to the pool or beach, they should supply beach towels. People don’t wanna take space in their carry-on luggage to try to take beach towels back-and-forth when they could just supply some in the condo.

We were not able to go because of Hurricane Debby. The condo had no power. The roads to the condo were flooded and not driveable. The bridges were closed. We could not get there. The beach and beach access were washed away. We were given a rain check by the condo. I called VRBO directly requesting a refund. VRBO would not refund my payment. I am a very unhappy VRBO customer and will let all my friends and family know by word-of-mouth and social media. The condo was hit by a hurricane and you would not issue a refund. Very unhappy customer as are the other four friends who had booked condos. I guess I will no longer use VRBO unless a refund is given.

Nice place to stay

Really enjoyed the location and the view. The cleanliness of the place was not good. I don't mind carpet but it was so dirty I didn't feel comfortable walking on it barefooted.

Beach Vacation

Location is perfect! Love the access to the beach and John's Pass restaurants, coffee shop, and shopping. Bathroom needs some TLC and perhaps more attention to cleaning in the shower and bedroom.

Great location and view!

Overall we would definitely stay here again! Great view, we even saw dolphins each morning :). The only complaints would be the elevator being so slow and the right side to the sink wasn’t working right. The bathroom needs updated. We will visit again though thank you for a great experience!

Sandy Shores is Spectacular!

Excellent experience at Sandy Shores for our first visit to Madeira Beach! Walk right out to the beach without a long hike through sand dunes. Relax at the pool. Security measures ensure peace of mind.

Family beach vaca after Disney

Convenience was key and this condo hit the spot! It was spacious and we loved the view from the balcony. The beds however were not comfortable, and the ceiling in the bathroom leaked and partially fell down onto toilet (I reported to maintenance line). There was a towel on the blinds in the bedroom when we arrived (we assume to help with light from sunrise?). Overall, we loved the stay though and left our remaining supplies for the next guest - paper plates, trash bags, toilet paper, bottled water, Kleenex, and solo cups!

Perfect location!

This is a great place to stay. It has the perfect location! The pool was right there along with the beautiful beach. Only steps away from the condo. On the balcony, you can enjoy watching the dolphins swim and the boats passing through. On the beach, the water is very clear and the sand is so soft. Also, Johns Pass boardwalk is right across the street, within walking distance. No need to drive to breakfast , lunch or dinner, as the boardwalk has restaurants and shopping! As for the condo, I would highly recommend that they take out the old carpet and replace it with new flooring. Also, the bathroom could use some help. A new shower curtain rod and shower curtain would really add some beauty to this condo. Overall, the condo was clean. The elevator was broken when we arrived, so we had to take a bunch of steps up and down since we are on the 4th floor. They had the elevator fixed by the time we left-a few days later. I figured a little exercise never hurt anyone. I would love to come back for another beach vacation getaway here.

Nice to get away

Elevator was too slow. Everything else was good. I did find a friend with 6 legs inder the sink.......he is under the colander under the sink.......i hope....nice to cook instead of eating out. The screen door came offon the 1st night.
