Arrived @ 3:00.Neighborhood wasnt safe in daylight.Broken glass in street where we had to park.People openly doing drugs across the street.Host was on property. He was unaware it had been rented. He informed that camper hadnt been cleaned & wed have to wait for him to clean.Inside, ants & gnats all over, urine stains on bathroom walls, pink stuff growing on shower, a stinky smell & it was hot.Didnt feel/look clean. When we tried to leave, handle to the door wouldnt open. After attempting to get out for 10 mins, we were able to reach the host by phone & exit @ 4:40.As 2 females traveling alone feeling locked in was terrifying. We didnt feel safe & decided we wouldnt return to the property. We had to find somewhere else to stay.Later I messaged the host w/ my concerns & requested refund.Received no reply.Next day, reached out to customer service. They reached host & he said hed âbe willing to work w/ me if I provide photo evidenceâ.Stated I needed to cancel my reservation to receive refund. My confirm. started the last day to cancel for refund was 2/11 & stay was on 2/25-which wouldve made ineligible for a refund if I canceled. The experience was awful!!! I guess next time Im locked in a hot dirty camper, I should set my camera up & hit record before I attempt to get out. When the host finally replied to me, he was rude.I was at property for 2 hrs.He said I shouldâve crawled out of the emergency exit window if I was concerned & since the door eventually opened it didnt justify a refund.
We ended up just leaving and paying for a hotel downtown. First rental I couldnât actually sleep in. The camper was not well maintained, which wouldnât have bothered us that much because it is a camper, but the environment was really dirty. It made us wonder if the sheets on the bed were actually changed between guests. The âoasisâ backyard had a gate code to get in but the fence by the camper wasnât even connected so we also didnât feel safe sleeping there. I wanted to like this for a quick one night stay in St Pete but it was horrible. We didnât even contact the property owner because it wasnât worth the argument. I should have listened to prior reviews.
This full size camper (air- conditioned) in a backyard is perfect for a single traveler.
It has a very comfortable bed. All the basics provided. Lots of outdoor seating and lounging areas in a private backyard.
We stayed during reggae rise up, it was a short Uber trip to Vinoy Park. Hot tub, pool, bar and putting green. Very neat place with lots to do. Enjoyed it
This was a fantastic place to stay! We really enjoyed the shared yard space, interaction there with fellow travelers and conversation with the host. Read the property description carefully - it is accurate. If you aren't fond of being in a camper or having shared social space (outdoor) with other guests then this may not be for you. But if you are then you will love it here. The host has created a magical yard space that is very focused on guest activities. He pays more attention to the guests' experience than any host we've encountered so far. We definitely hope to return here on our future trips to St. Pete!
Since we have stayed in a RV previously, we were more than excited for our stay in St Pete. Before we went down, we saw a more than concerning review from 12/2, which we proactively reached out to the host explaining our concern and expressed how we did not want to be misled. The Host referred us to the other 300 reviews he had and stated the review from 12/2 was a surprise, so we decided to keep the reservation.
There were multiple problems once arriving that quickly became evident. Here are a few - We since the shelves were dust covered we had limited storage. The deck outside had definitely bounce and unevenness. The shower was not sealed correctly as a result the base of the shower was extremely soft and seemed to be rotting out underneath which may be why it was damp inside all the time. Also, there wasn't fire extinguisher in case of emergency.
We were very fortunate that we had wonderful weather and could explore the nearby city. I would agree that the location was good, however we could not wait to leave and wanted to spend the limited amount of time there. It was damp, dirty, unleveled, and unsupported.
Note: we didnât reach out to the host as these are things that need to be a part of the upkeep of the location. These are all larger problems that need some major maintenance to resolve correctly, and we knew it would not be able to be fix quickly
We agree to the review on 12/2 as this needs to be out there so other guest can get a full understanding.
Donât normally leave reviews but this needs to be out there
Rented both places, luckily because we couldnât even use the shower in the camper. The floor was caving in from water damage from shower & the door for shower would not shut so we had to use the outdoor shower. Told owner & he said shower door was in a test run because shower curtain wasnât a good option but never did anything so we could use the shower in camper. Camper smells like mildew, bad. In the tiny home, the heater was leaking a lot and got all over my sisters stuff and soaked her pillows. Tried to use the toaster in camper and smelled like it was on fire. Had one trash bag for the week & one roll of toilet paper provided to us. Owners boyfriend came outside to stretch on the back deck while we were in the hot tub which I thought was strange, yes I know they live there but still. They left their house windows open all week so they could smoke & the whole backyard smelled like weed the whole week while we were there. We left a day early because we were over it. I know itâs a camper & tiny home and not a condo or house but it was a lot more rough than I was expecting, pictures should be updated too.
Was like you were transported to the perfect mini paradise! Was only able to stay a single night, but will absolutely be back for a longer stay to take advantage of all of the fun amenities!
Thank you for everything, Mitchel!
We had such a blast there. We didnât even bother really leaving the site for the whole time! Everything was nice, clean, just a neat design and layout! We want those light bars at the outside bar/grill area!! Haha! Iâm not nervous bout that left side of the toilet at the floor base, besides that I think I left my jacket! But we so recommend staying here!!
The caravan and its surroundings are unique. Perfect for one or two travellers.
Lots of nice touches like the honesty fridge and outside area.
Caravan is compact, so if you are of a larger frame, it could be a little tight! But it's a great base to explore StPete. $10 uber gets you to the Pier and downtown.
Mitch great with advice on where to go for drinks and music.
While the surrounding neighbourhood is not salubrious, it is quiet and you'll probably head straight to StPete anyway.
The concept of this property was good but our actual stay no. Left two days early. Photos donât represent the place & the location definitely not for everyone. Poor parking & too much noise. Didnât feel safe. Had to go to a hotel. This is a definite NO.
Last year, my wife and I stayed in the tiny house on this same property. We loved it so much that we went back this year, and stayed in the retro camper. It was adorable!!! The property owner has made several upgrades to the property since last year, and he's got a pretty neat little system going. There were some issues when checking in but we called the owner, and he came within 20 minutes to address the problem. He is always very respectful, and very quick to help with anything you need while there!! Honestly, we will be back again! We love this little paradise so much!!!
Camper was cute and just what you would expect- did not have heat until 1230am due to the propane tanks were both empty and after a few messages about that issue it was fixed
Hot tub needed to be cleaned you could smell the algae
outdoor cooking area is cute and stocked
great idea to have an onsite vending/snacks
multiple rentals on site and in close proximity
I was looking for a place in this neighborhood because of its proximity to where I would be meeting with some people. Riding down the street was nothing special, but when I found the place, entered the code on the gate, the backyard and accommodations in the RV were great and relaxing. Nice gem in the southern part of St. Pete!
Overall outstanding stay, everything as described, great couples weekend getaway, perfect to get out of the weekly routine. Would recommend booking with friends or another close couple to make everything more fun but really is an unforgettable experience!
