We were rained-out of a long planned camping trip and, luckily, found this at the last minute. The Rococo room is beautiful and very clean, and the deck with BBQ is quite useful. It is spacious and bright.
The grounds are fun to walk around. Seeing the different areas is really interesting. I especially liked the yacht floating in the pond.
Overall this was a great stay!
What a beautiful place! The suite was large, luxurious, and charming and a great place to relax. The hosts were friendly and kind, and the grounds are extensive and lovely. A great place to walk and so many charming cottages and natural areas to enjoy. I loved the ponds with turtles, frogs, and other wildlife. We'd definitely stay there again!
Close to Stanardsville, Ruckersville, & Charlottesville meetings.
It took very little time on good roads to get where we needed to go. The room was large, with lovely & comfortable matching Italian furniture & a kingsize bed.
The bathroom was beautiful & had a tub/shower. The kitchenette was adequate with a small refrigerator,
but there are some wonderful
places to eat in the area. It was quiet, very clean & the nightly rates are very reasonable. The manager was gracious & pleasant
& responded to every question quickly that I asked before booking,
then he came to meet us as we checked out. The housekeeping manager was also helpful with the schedule we needed to keep.
We stayed a week & will stay there again.
Thanks, MaryEllen & Marshall
We enjoyed our stay here immensely! The property was larger and prettier than we realized. We enjoyed exploring the property (and felt safe doing so). We were thrilled to meet some very social cats walking around the grounds, and all of the people we encountered were very friendly as well. The area was somewhat tucked away, so the evenings were perfect for stargazing as there wasn't much light pollution. We would definitely stay here again.
The good. Room is clean, spacious, and comfortable. It is pretty to look at and in a good location. Close to the national park and town for shopping and dining. The shower is nice with good water pressure and plenty of hot water.
The bad. The room is attached to a common use area and the walls must be made of paper because you can hear everything. People are up and moving at 7am and still going until 10p at least. From inside the room you can hear every word spoken, every door opened and closed, the dishes being handled, coffee maker, water running, etc. We listened to a woman singing Roxanne one night, then we heard all about the owners favorite coffee one morning and then a couple arguing the next morning. Itâs like they are in the room with you.
The bed is a firm king and we both had sore backs.
The room temperature is inconsistent. Turn it up a little and the room was 82 degrees. Turn it down and we wake up to 65 degrees. And the bed comforter is thin and not very warm.
I would not recommend this room to anyone looking for a relaxing and quiet place.
If you like listening to people talk and other household noises maybe youâd like it.
Weâve stayed at a lot of VRBOs and this one is in the top tier!
Close to Shenandoah National Park. Room on the property to walk around, etc. And beautiful dark skies.
We will be back!
It is a beautiful area and cute set up. Has everything one needs. The detailed information the owner gave about the property itself and the area around it was excellent. If we ever return to the area we will definitely stay here. It was easy to get to wherever we wanted.
Itâs a fantastic place to stay at. It is the nicest place Iâve stayed at and the interior is super nice. Friendly hosts who are always there to help. Oh, and yes, it is very clean.
My husband and I enjoyed the cleanliness and comfort that the room offered very much! Definitely recommend any guests to stay here if in the area. The location is close enough to the convenience but still has a quiet and peaceful feeling during our stay!
