Unfortunately a terrible stay... There was no hot water at all during our trip and staff claimed it was about to be fixed when raised with them on the first day. The hot water was never fixed. Additionally the room and bathroom did not appear to have been properly cleaned, and the building overall seemed to be in a state of disrepair. Sad to see what could be a lovely old hotel run in this way.

We paid extra for a “superior room” the bed was rock hard, curtains in a large room were falling down and looked pinned up. No heating and again in a room so large with tall ceilings it didn’t heat up well and room and bathroom was so cold all stay.

A unique hotel with historic features in the lovely canal town of Stone. Hotel central to activities and sights in town. Has a great Indian restaurant on ground floor and other good restaurants close by. No elevator but staff helpful with luggage. I would stay here again.

We booked the hotel for attending a wedding nearby. The hotel restaurant was an Indian, which would have been perfect for me, but unfortunately did not suit my wife. However, Stone is a really nice town, with plenty of alternative choices to dine. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and setting up for our un-booked breakfast was nice of them. It was a perfect location for us, right in the centre of town, with ample (free) parking.
