the stairs to enter property are horrendous! Very, very steep and many steps. A single rail on one side, but it is staggered due to the old building. After you enter the room, you find three more stairs to go up and down whenever you use the bathroom. The toilet is so old and practically on the floor. You need to be young and in very good health to use this property. Very disappointing. That being said, the view is terrific and Stonington is so charming.
The Heritage room has beautiful views of the harbor from the semi- private deck as well as the 1st floor deck. There is no a/c, depending on the time of year you visit. Although we did not use the fireplace (summer time), it is beautiful. The town is small & quiet (which is what we were looking for). There's 1 restaurant, otherwise you do need to travel 30 minutes.
And, the Inn is dog friendly!
