The property was overall very nice with the exception of stairs to the front door and deck need to be power washed and were very slippery when wet and it rained a little bit all three days we were there. We stopped at Domâs and bought some steak tips on the way up, but the grill was not usable very dirty and covered in mildew. The showerhead needs to be replaced. It barely has a trickle of water coming out of it. For those reasons I would not suggest anyone stay there mainly due to the shower.
Ultimately this was a good place for a quiet week in the woods but itâs a very bare bones rental & didnât seem worth the money. From whatâs in the house to the overgrown raised beds & broken surrounding fence, it doesnât feel homey or loved. Clearly someone cared about it in the past but now itâs just a corporate rental. Make sure you BYO coffee, oil & salt and donât leave any food in your car. Ours was empty but accidentally left unlocked & a bear decided to take a look.
We came to Stowe for a ski/snowboard trip. The mud room was a perfect place for our gear. The house is set in a steep incline, with a stream out front, which makes for stunning veiws and great dog walks, our little Westie lived it!
We loved the fur-family friendly rental with mountain views, the proximity to the center of Stowe, the Von Trapp Lodge and Bierhall, & a spa day at Top Notch. We would definitely come again. Suggest: ridges on roof to deter heavy snow drop from roof, update steps up to front door to become one level on each step, add some ice melt to the storage, and add throw blankets to couch area.
Nestled between two mountain ridges, this cabin was ideal. Spacious, uncluttered and lots of windows for light and viewing. The hosts were very responsive and helpful with a technical issues and sent over someone to shovel the few inches of snow one day and to sand the area another. Stowe and all it has to offer were a short scenic drive away, but this house was a place to delight in the wonder of winter.
