The room was clean, well appointed, spacious, comfortably warm and quiet. I was very happy with it. My evening dinner included vegetable soup and steak pie, both of which were tasty and nicely hot when served. Morning breakfast options were plentiful and hot food was tasty, well prepared and served promptly. Reception and dining room staff were considerate, polite and keen to assist as necessary. This hotel may be a little aged but but it is well appointed and has plenty of character and atmosphere that others of its generation and newer lack. In short, it ticked all my boxes.

Cleanest hotel I have stopped in. Excellent Breakfast and evening food. Found out that they have a Curling Sports Centre where the sport of Curling is done. Currently this team are the world champions. if you are looking for a Hotel in Stranraer, definitely go to the North West Castle Hotel

We are so glad that we stayed in this gem of a hotel. It was such a special experience. The pool and sauna are nice to relax in after a day of travel. The dinner is 5 star and the view over the bay in the morning is priceless.
