We spent three nights at The Rocks and it was truly memorable. The property itself is remarkable, offering comfort and charm in every detail. Stephanie was an outstanding hostâwelcoming, attentive, and ensuring our stay was perfect. We highly recommend both The Rocks and Stephanie to anyone looking for a special getaway.
We loved this charming house and it's location couldn't be better! We felt like we were right in the center of the coolest part of Sydney. Check-in and check-out were very easy following the host's instructions, and the host was very responsive to messages sent before and during our stay. While we loved the property, there were some details that prevent us from giving a 5-star review. The QR code and URLs provided for the house guide didn't work, so it took us some time and internet searches to figure out how to use the mini-split, radiators and space heaters in the different rooms (it was very cold in the house when we arrived). The laundry machine had an error and was unusable during our stay. I contacted the host who suggested we try pulling it out, unplugging and replugging it and running the maintenance cycle but in the end we elected not to get involved in all that. Two bedroom windows didn't lock, including the one in the bedroom immediately accessible from the front walkway (where our youngest child was sleeping). While we were a little disappointed with these minor maintenance issues, in the end we would still book the home again and recommend it to others.
Fantastic location (very central to the Rocks), good sized property for our family of 5, well equipped kitchen. We parked at the Clocktower parking station, only a 1 min walk from the apartment.
Perfect location for walking around The Rocks and to major sites and transport. Apartment was great; comfortable and plenty big enough for 5 adults. Exactly as advertised.
This property is in an absolute perfect location with easy access to so many of Sydney's wonderful attractions. Stephanie was wonderful to work with and helped accommodate us with a schedule change. Next time we go to Sydney, we are definitely staying there again.
We decided to stay at the same property a second time after having a short stay in Melbourne to see the Australian Open. It was a good decision as we knew what to expect from this accommodation, which we perfect for us. As we had familiarity with the property and surrounding location, we were able to enjoy the offerings even more as we did not have to relearn things.
Centrally located residence with easy access to many key attractions including the Opera Hall, Victoria Gardens and Harbor access. Very clean accommodations that made our visit convenient and memorable!
Great location but the smaller details need attention
There is no doubt this property is in a super convenient location, however there were many smaller details that need attention- so many that I wrote a list!
Kitchen:
Inside of kitchen cupboards were dusty with loose hairs. No drying rack or mat for dishes. Chairs very rickety - we put two aside as they felt close to collapsing. One very thin/cheap tea tea towel for our entire three night stay!
Would have been nice to have at least a small milk on arrival for a cup of tea or coffee. Ice cube tray was not filled.
Bathroom
Bathroom on top floor teeny tiny, with small sink behind the toilet. Almost impossible to use this sink and shower in such a tiny space. Toilet seat was loose. Liquid hand soap is watered down. No shelving to put toiletries. We had to use the floor or a chair outside both bathrooms.
Livingroom
Only a small couch and two (not very comfortable) chairs. Four of us could not comfortably sit and watch a movie. Nice looking space, but not functional.
Bedrooms
Bedrooms were nicely styled, however they could do with an upgrade from the mish-mash of plastic clothes hangers. There was also nowhere to place your suitcases so lots of bending to the floor.
Outdoor space
The small outdoor space off the kitchen was not very inspiring. One large plant in a pot and a couple of smaller dead ones. A couple of chairs, but no table to sit and have a coffee. Even some fairy lights would have been nice!
Attention to detail would greatly improve this property.
This was a wonderful property in a wonderful location - central to everything we wanted to do and the property manager was very helpful and lovely to deal with.
Stephanie excellent host communication great, very helpful.
Accommodation perfect for our stay, clean, spacious.
Five adults and a 16 month old. Easy to find our way around. Quiet area, but close to Circular Quay, for all transport needs.
Had a wonderful stay. Highly recommend
Great property with small but well fit out bathrooms. Comfy beds. Balcony was great added extra. 5 minutes walk to the rocks pubs and shops. We favoured fortunes of war and pancake on the rocks. C
This house is perfect for a family of four visiting Sydney. The property is close to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the MCA, Circular Quay and the Opera House. Kitchen is modern and the house has everything you could need for a short stay.
The renovations of this older building were well thought out! This is where charm meets contemporary updates. We so enjoyed being within walking distance of cafes, restaurants, local shopping, the harbor, opera house, etc. Stephanie is quick to respond and accommodating. Great stay!
