The place is not what we expected. The only way to get any ventilation was to open windows on an extremely busy street. The fans provided were inadequate and we were not staying during warm weather. The stairs to the bedrooms were steep and windy. The beds were good if it had been cool enough to sleep without lots of traffic noise. The location is excellent.
The good:
Property is nicely renovated on the ground floor.
The location is great - close to the Rocks and Circle quay.
The neighborhood is full of nice little restaurants and bars.
The bad:
Heat! There is no air conditioning (which is correctly not listed as an amenity). There some small in effective fans and a small floor cooling unit on the ground floor (which barely moves the slightly chilled air it creates). Even opening windows to try to allow for a cross draft did not cool the upstairs.
Given the money obviously invested in the renovation, a bit more spent of decent cooling would have gone a long way to making this unit more comfortable.
The main benefit of the property was its location with the best brewery/pub down the road and great restaurants. Also not too far to walk to Barangaroo and Circular Quay. Miller's point was a great little place to wander around. We did however find the house a little cramped and had problems cooling the property, particularly the bedrooms, with the fans provided. Admittedly this was Sydney in January and it was exceptionally hot and humid, but better fans would overcome such problems.
