Pros: large heated pool & hot tubes, propery in the woods, not far from Tahoe city.Cons: decay odor in the suite, very old torn blankets, no mosquito door to the balcony, noises from the Granlibakken restaurant till midnight.
The electronic front door lock failed to work after 3 days. The batteries died. Calling the vrbo contact was nothing more than corporate run a round. Did you enter the right number etc. THE BATTERIES WERE DEAD. The backup key box didn't work either. They had no idea what the combanation was. Talking to the local vrbo person...45 minutes away was frustration too. After about 3 hours they finally goy a local person to open up the door. I had to go buy batteries to get it working. I did not get reimbursed the 15. For them either. Don't rent at granlibakken. Very poor service. And im out 15
Overall the location is perfect and the unit satisfied our needs for the 2 nights however the place needs some serious renovating. Electrical cords everywhere, couldnât figure out how to use the TV, fireplace, oven is so outdated it would not heat for a solid hour to make my kids pizza. A bit over priced for what the place offers but it did the job
Unit was comfortable and cozy. Granlibakken is nice and laid back for families wanting to relax. Couple of small issues (WiFi network changed, pool access card didnât work) got addressed quickly by Vacasa/host. Overall, great base for a few days in Tahoe.
Check-in process created problems. Vacasa texted that the booking was confirmed days ahead, then only a free hours before checking texted from a different number that my identity needed to be verified or the booking wouldnât be confirmed. The second text didnât give any specifics about the reservation and seemed like phishing, but it was real and delayed our check in significantly. Only gave us one pool towel. Bar stools and carpets stained on arrival. Generally liked the area but in October seemed like the resort was minimally operating for big resort fees. Nice to have full kitchen abilities. Dishwasher is loudest Iâve ever heard though. No checkout instructions given.
- The pull out bed was broken and management knew it was because there was one already ordered.
- Non working phone and Alexa.
- Dirty tissue behind a nightstand.
- Non working food processor sink.
- Non working TV.
The list goes on. The property and location were great but the place was not what was advertised.
I am waiting to get my money back.
The property itself was fine and in a cute, quiet community, but a lot of little things that were off about the studio added up.
It's a little bit dated, and my partner who never gets allergies was dealing with sneezing, coughing, and congestion each morning when we woke up. The small heater in the corner took about 24 hours to heat to a comfortable temperature. The extra fees we were charged on completing the booking added almost $300 to the final price for a four night stay. The kitchen sink sprays everywhere when turned on. I tried contacting Vacasa with a question about the fireplace. A laminated note said that reception would provide one log a day for the fire place. We never got any logs, and I contacted Vacasa on who to ask, and they never responded. The booking site says that the community reception doens't service the studio, but notes around the apartment said to contact them in case of problems. It was unclear whether the reception serviced our studio or whether only Vacasa could help, but Vacasa never got back to me to answer my question. None of those things were huge issues to us, but all together they made for a so-so experience overall.
Ready when we got there- clean- few spots on rug- COZY- plenty big enough for the 2 of us. Kitchen nice and well stocked with essentials
Only complaint is no firewood, even though we contacted vrbo and that is the main reason I booked this one so we could snuggle in front of the fire.
