Really nice, quirky hotel. I had a room split over two levels (bedroom/sitting room upstairs and bathroom downstairs). Loads of period features and exposed wood, etc. The staff I spoke to were great, and the breakfast was fantastic, free and very plentiful. I'll be back.

I really liked it here. I did book a small room - and it was small. But it had a fridge and kettle. Clean bathroom and shower, Lovely bed with immaculate linen. Very quiet room also. Great base for your tour of the old town. Nice clean breakfast area. Quirky little place - full of character - the room did take a little finding - but I would most certainly stay here again - but I would get a bigger room. Three different female receptionists over the course of a three-night stay - each one a delight to engage with. Thank you for letting me stay.

The Meriton Old Garden was located very centrally and easy to get to all the sights. Rooms were clean and functional, if a little basic. Bathrooms were small and showers not well contained so water spread outside the shower area. The card needed to power the room emitted a high pitched buzzing noise which was irritating at night. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was simple and could do with greater variety of fruit. All in all though, very adequate and value for money hotel.
