Giusi, our host, welcomed us at the front door of the flat and immediately made us feel at home. Our jaws dropped when we walked out onto the seafront terrace with its cheerful geraniums, comfortable seats, and spectacular panoramic view of MazzarĂČ Bay. The photos of the terrace on the VRBO website do not do it justice. Though the flat is on the busy Via Nazionale, you wouldnât know it once youâre inside. No traffic noise at all. Another great aspect of the flat is its convenient location. Itâs a short walk from the cable car up the mountain to Taormina (a fun ride!). Itâs also a short walk from the stairway up the mountain with its wonderful views of the coastline, and to the stairway down to the beach leading to Isola Bella. Across the street from the flat is a well-stocked mini-market where we were able to buy all the groceries we needed. Since we were on our honeymoon, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the romantic Ristorante SantâAndrea in the five-star Belmond hotelâ3 minutes walk away from the flat. We also enjoyed an afternoon at the public beach at the far end of MazzarĂČ Bay. As we told Giusi at the end of our stay, we would definitely stay here again and for more than the brief three-night visit on our first trip to Sicily.
