Ideal for families, with private pool and fresh lawn, Villa Ambra is strategically located in a quiet residential area just 2 km to the beach of Giardini Naxos, Taormina's adjacent coastal town with bars and restaurants by the water.

You access the villa from two nice white stairs that lead to the patio with a lava stone table (perfect for outdoor lunches), the private pool and a solarium with lounge chairs.

On the ground floor:
- a spacious living room with satellite TV;
- a dining room;
- a well equipped kitchen;
- a toilet.

On the first floor:
- two double bedrooms with access to the panoramic terrace;
- one bedroom with two single beds (that cannot be united);
- two bathrooms.

On the last floor:
- a double bed;
- a extra tiny room with a single bed - that you can reach only walking through the other bedroom;
- one bathroom.
This floor accesses to a terrace with table, chairs and a superb view that extends to the coast of Giardini Naxos.

The Villa is fantastic! Loads of room and a great pool. The location is perfect for sight seeing in the local area and loads to do. Amenities a short walk or drive away and check out the recommended restaurants! The kids loved it and we did too! Sicily is just stunning too. A great week and my family and I highly recommend this villa.

Villa Umbra

We all enjoyed our stay very much. The villa was spacious as were the outdoor areas. The location was quite good. The drive to Taormina was relatively easy and only took about 20 minutes. The view of Etna was impressive, but the views of the sea were unfortunately hazy because of the smoke from Etna. The only negative was was abandoned construction directly across the street; however, it did not obscure the view.

Ancient Beauty

We stayed in a beautiful, well appointed villa in the Tripitello section of Taormina. It is a lovely neighborhood with many villas. Our villa had a wonderful view of Mount Aetna which has its own weather. There are many significant historical sites to visit in the area. We enjoyed the town of Naxos with its spectacular ocean views and restaurants on the water. The food in the area is terrific especially if you like seafood.

Lovely villa

A lovely villa. Lots of space, big bedrooms. Gorgeous outside spaces, terraces and verandas where you can find a peaceful corner, or catch the sun at different times of the day. Lovely pool. Car definitely needed.just over an hour to Etna, 10 minutes to Taormina, 50 minutes to Catania.

Lovely well equipped villa with beautiful views

Villa Ambra was a relatively easy drive from Catania airport and had everything we needed for a week's holiday. The Pool was lovely and refreshing and well maintained. The accommodation was spacious, clean and comfortable. The garden was attractive with beautiful views out over Mt Etna. It was nice having a variety of options for eating outside during different times of the day. Trappitello itself is unremarkable but has a well stocked Eurospin supermarket which was inexpensive and a couple of restaurants. Gian Franco's s Steakhouse were very welcoming and friendly with great food and wine, so much so we ate there twice and were greeted as friends. So far as excursions are concerned, Taormina is a must (we parked at Porto Catania carpark after reading hideous reviews about the vehicle clearance at Lumbi parking). Siracusa/Ortigia and the centre of Catania were lovely. Savoca is worth a visit and has connections with the Godfather film. We also did a 4x4 sunset tour of Mt Etna which was very enjoyable. The only negatives were that there were some dogs in a neighboring property which barked constantly. I wonder whether the owner might have a word with the neighbour? Some of the pool loungers were a bit worse for wear and getting the car into the designated space was very tricky. But overall we loved the property and would recommend it.

We miss it already!

We traveled to Sicily from Massachusetts, USA in June 2023 and spend 5 days at Villa Ambra. We were a group of 6 adults and 2 teens. We really enjoyed our stay. We liked how it was located a little bit away from the tourist area. We walked down the hill to the town area every morning and enjoyed getting coffee and pastries and practicing our Italian (thank you Google Translate). It was a wonderful experience for my family. There is everything you need a walk away including a grocery store. It was in a great location! Only a 15 minute drive to Taormina (we use the Lumbi parking garage and then took the free 3-5 minute bus to town, easy). We drove to Giardina Naxos for dinner a few times (5-10 min). Did a day trip to Mount Etna and another day trip to where our family is from about 1 hour away. The house was clean and the pool and patio were fantastic. Great views. I little bit of an eyesore with the house across the street being what looks like abandoned after pouring the base concrete but on the positive the view wasn't blocked. There was a wonderful view of Etna! We all can't wait to go back some day!

Feels like home

This villa is great! A lovely place to stay - pool and big outside area, as well as a lovely house. We are a family of 3 couples and we all had big bedrooms and separate bathrooms. The property is situated in the village of Trappitello. Walking distance to shops, supermarket and a couple of cafes. You need a car to get into Taormina and around the area. We had a van - the access road is narrow but fine once you get used to it. Definitely recommend this property.

A Memorable Family Trip in Sicily!

Our extended family had a wonderful time in Villa Ambra! Everyone we dealt with was very nice from the online booking to Piero and Orazio who met us at the house to give us a tour and information we would need. They even left a bottle of wine and some snacks. The house was beautiful with more than enough room for 7 of us with 3 bathrooms and an outdoor shower outside. The outside area was spectacular with a view of Mt. Etna, and the sea, and the towns of Taromina and Castelmole. The kids really enjoyed the pool and it was a comfortable place to gather with a gorgeous table and chairs by the pool and out front. Piero gave us the name of a man named Charlie who came to the house with his assistant Antonio and prepared an amazing feast for us to eat outside to celebrate our anniversary. I would highly recommend doing this!! Plenty of loungers too, along with an outdoor kitchen. It is walking distance to town and we took advantage of that by going every morning for a cafe and cornonetto, and even tried one of the restaurants, which was great! There is a grocery store called the Eurospin that has everything you may need. We had a great visit at this beautiful spot and would highly recommend it!!

Destination Birthday Celebration

Piero was an attentive and informative host! Without him I’m not sure how we would have navigated the markets we needed and set up the party in the manner we wanted! The layout of the house was perfect for a mixture of families (we were 3 couples, one with a pre-teen). The indoor and outdoor kitchens and seating are perfect for entertaining those staying and extra guests for dinner…more than enough table service and cutlery! I highly recommend

Excellent option for group of friends/family near Taormina

The Villa Ambra was a perfect option for the 6 of us (three couples). The location was excellent: walkable to a small town with one of everything (bakery, grocery store, fish store, pizza place, etc), easy parking, close drive to the beach town (with nice restaurants), taormina, Etna, the airport, and the main north-south highway. The views from the house are across the valley that leads the towns on the foothills of Etna and on the clear days a spectacular view of Mt Etna. The house has particularly nice outdoor spaces- a big patio outside to eat and several other outdoor sitting areas. The dining table is large enough to eat and comfortable. The kitchen is fine- small but stocked enough to do cooking. Bedrooms and beds were comfortable and having 3 full bathrooms was very convenient- excellent hot water. Overall- it was a perfect size. Note that there are steps to all three bedrooms. Really, the only mark against it was that the internet turned out to be inconsistent- going on and off throughout the stay. It wasn't a big deal for us since the cell service was strong- but may not be a reliable option if you are planning on doing work video calls or something like that.

Very clean and great place to stay. Good location. Orazio and Piero were both on arrival and very nice and helpful. On my request Piero got started second air conditioner in the bedroom under the roof because I can't breath well in a high humidity enviroment. A/C was working great for our stay. We have been impressed by several bottles of wine as a welcoming kit. Pool was great. We wish to stay longer. Thank you very much for your incredible hospitality.

Very comfortable villa in a beautiful setting

The villa is set in a very attractive garden with an extensive patio area around the pool. There is plenty of shade throughout the day and lots of seating with wonderful views of Mount Etna. The house itself is spacious and comfortably furnished with a well appointed kitchen and a second outdoor (but covered) kitchen area that also has a barbecue. The whole property is well maintained and had been well cleaned when we arrived. Piero was very welcoming on our arrival and special mention must be made of Orazio who was unfailingly helpful with his suggestions and who accompanied us to a pharmacy at 8.30 on a Sunday morning to help with translation.

The property itself is lovely, although in an area of Trapitello that appears rundown.

Very comfortable, fabulous terrace and pool with gorgeous views of the Etna. Plenty of room for 6 adults. Orazio and Pietro, the local property managers are TERRIFIC in every way. Helpful for any situation, full of information, and keep the place in excellent condition, inside and out. The pool is a pleasure on hot summer days.

We were made to feel extremely welcome by Orazio and Piero .They waited patiently while we got ourselves lost and eventually came to meet us. They are lovely guys. Very useful starting provisions were provided as well as wonderful lemons and oranges. The property was as described and more. Lots of space inside and out and plenty of alternative dining and relaxing areas. The villa is equipped like a home rather than a holiday let and so much more welcoming for it. If we had one minor criticism, it is that the directions could be better. The missing information is that the villa is in Trapitello. All three generations in our party were delighted with our stay and wished it could have been longer.
