It was directly on the beach which we loved. I wasnt to happy about my room being right where the outside bar was. We kept the curtains closed just so we had some sense of privacy. The mattress was to hard and I didn't get any sleep during my stay.

Seemed clean but outdated. No elevators—which they didn’t bother to mention until they gave us our keys and watched us wander around the building with a luggage cart. Front desk staff seemed rather uninterested in their jobs and we seemed to be a bother to them checking in for our reservation.

I was charged $300 more than quoted. No microwave in the room. Had to purchase drinks at bikini bar. My friendscwater bottle she had on beach got checked for alcohol. Couldnt even take non alcohol beer on beach. Couldnt take coolers on beach. There were veryvfew beach chairs on beach.

We showed up at 2pm and I asked the front desk (first person that I saw at the computer all the to the right side). The woman had a rude attitude for no reason at all. She told me that check-in time was at 4 pm so come back at 4. Then she checked in another couple 5 minutes later. As the day went on, I noticed her checking in many other folks. I came back at 4 and our room was still not ready. I waited around the lobby and watched other people get checked in. Our room was ready after 4:30.

New staff, a little rude, made all adults have to wear a wrist band with out explanation, was directed to use door D to find room. Door D was not labeled and two other staff did not know where to find door D. Spent an extra 15 minutes exploring doors on the side to property to figure out where to enter for our rooms.

The room was nice, but the door to the second floor stairway wouldn’t open with our key card, so we had to enter on the first floor, walk halfway across the hotel to get to another stairway, then walk back to the far end where our room was. That’s a long way to carry heavy bags. We mentioned it to three employees during our stay, and nothing was done. Also , I was told they were going to write my debit card info “on the back of a piece of paper” in case of incidental charges. I can’t believe, in 2025, there isn’t a safer way to store my personal information than scribbling it on a piece of paper. Other than these two issues, we did have a pleasant stay and would return.

Nightmare in East Tawas no help from hotel.com

Made reservation on hotel.com got an Itineraries number no confirmation number called customer service 888 964 4613 ex465 said card denied set up reservation again two more cards denied said I needed debit card went thru got first floor room as asked and confirmation number ! 4pm check in arrived 3:15 room not ready went to beach bikini bar frozen gordon food breaded chicken patty and 1/4lb frozen burger $80 ! Tried to check in 5pm room not ready talking with CAGED BOBCAT Judy mean found out had second floor room had confirmation for first floor medical reasons Bobcat said she couldn’t accommodate first floor room asked for refund would NOT give refund payed dishwasher $25 to carry my luggage to room ! Pool was dirty sand in corners along sides and steps jacuzzi broke dry sauna broke broke since September of 24 . Room dated windows didn’t open and cleaning service only happened every 4th day we stayed 8 days ! Prosperity had hugh potential but run down beach was loaded with sea weed and fish fly larvae garbage cans full fish flys all over entrance ways racked beach one time on Friday Saturday morning beach loaded wit sea weed and larvae and kids pkaying wit 30lb dead carp they found on beach place has huge potential but owner won’t spend money place run down no hospitality !!! Came home to find out all three attempts to book room went thru now fighting with hotels.com and Alfi to get reimbursed as of now 4 days of fighting they are charging me $4500 for 8 day stay 💩

The city of East Tawas is a gem on the east coast of Michigan's Lower Peninsula - a quaint, lakeside community with a bustling downtown area. The Tawas Bay Beach Resort is located almost squarely in the center of town, right on the lake. The parking lot is spacious, and has plenty of room for handicapped guests (my wife is in a wheelchair). The lobby itself is inviting, open, and spacious, and all of the front desk employees I dealt with during my stay were not only pleasant and helpful, but friendly and conversational. Our room was very-well climate controlled, with a wall unit to set the temperature being very effective despite hot weather outside. The two queen beds were cushy, and there were fuzzy blankets in the drawers of the dresser/entertainment center in case the blankets and sheets provided with the beds weren't up to snuff. Our view looked out at the lake, facing south. The huge benefit to this is that, at no point during the day is the sun shining directly into the bedroom - morning comes softly, and evening leaves the same. It has swimming areas available not only on the beach itself, but also in an indoor pool, the enclosure of which houses a sauna and a hot tub as well. My family used the in-facility restaurant for our checkout breakfast, and all I have to say is that the breakfast gravy is amazing, and the skillet (on special that day) was perhaps the best breakfast skillet I have ever tasted. We vacation yearly - this IS a new regular destination for us.

Love when hotels have a clothes line in the tub for wet suits. Even though the weather was rainy we still enjoyed the hot tub and pool and once it cleared up the Tiki Bar.
