The location was fantastic. You walk right into old town. But the property itself is a bohemian, repurposed castle difficult to navigate with terribly odd-sized rooms and luxury it certainly was not.
A Unique location and property. We stayed in the largest suite which sadly has been decorated rather oddly (leather sofas and a giant chandelier that belongs in a beach resort in Tulum not in an ancient Georgian castle) The second bed in the suite was lumpy and uncomfortable. However the staff was polite, the pool unique and the location/ambiance was incredible. Just for the experience of staying in a hotel that old, I would recommend it.
It is the worst hotel I have ever been for the last 30 years.
In internet it is written that there is Aeroport Transfer included, BUT it is not.
The room was dirty. There were hair all over my bed.
The hotel !!!doesnât accept !!!!credit cards!!! They cannot give you invoice!
The room was designed with some strange Chinese sculptures which didnât fit at all.
The guests cannot enter the hotel in the evenings with the card, but instead need to ring a bell and hope someone will hear them.
Breakfast was small, not enough and looks like from the day before
We stayed in the Luxury Quadruple Room and it is an experience. The room is huge and feels like you have been transported back centuries to the days of Knights and princesses.
The service is amazing and the staff is incredibly helpful. Tamari, Beqa Ioseb, and
Toko did everything to make our stay magical.
We really enjoyed our stay at castle in old town. It was a very relaxed and unique experience.
The stairs up to the entrance were effortful but you canât stay half way up a mountain without a few steps. Trust me. The view is worth it. The steps justified the hearty food and good wine we enjoyed.
At the castle we enjoyed the unhurried breakfasts and living amongst the history of Georgia. Every room, wall, artefact was unique and intriguing.
We spent much time at the pool deck high above the castle looking out over the roof tops. Quite spectacular.
Thank you Georgi ?? & Trovike (hope Iâve spelt that right) and the lovely young lady whoâs name I fail to remember. In fact all the staff ensured our needs were met and our stay was most pleasurable.
Tbilisi is a city that grows on you. An eclectic mix of old and new but everywhere we went there was a welcome and a vibe that would draw you back.
Definitely worth exploring on foot. There are so many nooks and crannies.
We took a day trip with a private driver out to the mountains which was a long day but worth it. The hotel arranged this for us.
Thank you.
Only one day stay , but I was satisfied so much. This is not a hotel but staff is very courtesy and humble.
Next I wanna be here in summer season. Thanks for serving.
Everything about this place is amazing. Location is key!! DO NOT book here if you cannot or do not like to walk or climb. Others will appreciate the view and nearby churches.
I enjoyed this beautiful and unique property more than my friends did. The Castle is old; the building itself is beautiful and the room we stayed in (the big one) was incredible. Unfortunately the power went out multiple times every day and we often lost hot water, which was probably outside the hotel's control, but inconvenient because it's so hot there in the summer.
I would stay here again just for the experience; the property is absolutely beautiful inside, the rooms and the common areas. If you don't like steps, I wouldn't advise it. The two things I didn't love were the people constantly walking through the 'private' terrace (it's not private, really, there are apartments it connects to) and the breakfast room is very small and cramped. That said, for the cost and the very good communication, I would still stay again.
Amazing hotel with all the comforts. Breakfast was a little chaotic due to tight space and I think there should be a warning about how many steps to climb! I was thinking of bringing friends and relatives who are in their 80âs an d no way would they have coped with so many steps
This is the best decorated, most finely imagined place - an actual Castle! - at which I have ever stayed. The owner and staff were beyond compare.
Delicious food, genuine care, outdoor pool.
A perfect memory.
Mooie locatie.
We had a really nice stay at the hotel. Only access to the hotel is via some outside stairs.
When we arrived staff was waiting for us and carried or luggage, same at departure.
Seeing our room we were positively surprised by the size and design and liked it immediately.
Due to the temperature we were not able to use the outside are, but they are really nice.
It is also located very close/inside the old area of the town so very central.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
So we highly recommend it to people that have no issues with stairs :-)
Me and my wife stayed in the Traditional Loft in the Annex Building of the Castle for 4 days at the end of 2018. It was only a 2 minute walk up to the Castle area where we ate breakfast each morning. We had 25 steps down in the Annex Building and another 50 steps up to the Castle. The Traditional Loft is a nice big room with interesting antique furniture. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The Annex Building was very old which surprised me at first, however the room itself was great and we were very happy staying in it. They gave us 2 keys, one for our room and one for access to the Castle area. We enjoyed eating breakfast every morning in the castle. There are many interesting things to look at. The coffee area actually has a glass floor with a small dig site under it with a few very old items to see. The Castle staff responded to our Whatsapp messages quickly whenever we messaged them. The Castle staff arranged an early morning airport pickup for us (GEL 40) with their driver Victor. Victor also drove us to the ski area Gudauri and back to the airport at the end of our trip. Georgia is known for crazy driving, so we were very happy with Victor's reasonable driving habits. The Castle's staff was very helpful to us. We would stay at the Castle again and would highly recommend staying there. It was a very unique place to stay.
