Our second stay and would come back but downside is no shower and the bathroom was dated and sink full of hairs which wasnât pleasant. The lighting in our room was poor. An extra lamp maybe by the mirror so you can see what youâre doing would be helpful. The service and staff were excellent. Dining was really good too. Lovely restaurant space. Breakfast is at the neighbouring Malthouse. Whilst food was good service was very poor, the tea/coffee facilities were dreadful. Had to ask for clean cups ( no saucers),only used teaspoons, this whole area looked unclean and let the whole stay down. It really wouldnât take much to rectify this. Our last stay breakfast was lovely, waitress service, clean and had no complaints.
The carpet leading from the bar to the rooms was absolutely filthy. My colleague's room and mine both had baths only with a shower head on a hose. All the sealant around the bath was damaged or black mould stained. The beds weren't very comfy at all, I had a bad nights sleep. The whole place needs a massive update.
Wipe your feet on the way out!
Staff young and not interested and do the bare minimum.
Bed had a foot end and had to sleep diagonally.
Carpet was stinking on the stairs in particular.
Shower was on a lead from the bath taps and was under the eaves so had no chance of standing up.
It's a very grubby place, filthy carpets, poorly maintained, no proper shower, poor housekeeping standards. The rooms require full renovation and to be thoroughly cleaned.
Very poor room quality, beds not comfortable. The bathroom is dirty, there is a spider's web on the ceiling. In total, a lot of dust is dirty. Old equipment. Dirty dirty everywhere
I have previously stayed at this property a couple of years ago. Arriving in the room the sky lite windows were all open allowing all dandelion seeds to settle on the surface of the beds . Carpet not vaccines and spiders and cobwebs everywhere . Not had this previously .
Breakfast chaotic at the Malthouse but staff were fabulous and the breakfast was fantastic . Homemade pancakes are very tasty.
Booked this properlty for next year for Iron Bridge 1940âs weekend so really hope there is an improvement .
Old building(s) with charm, nice breakfast a couple of houses down the road, friendly staff. Bed could have been better, would have prefered individual duvets. Mind your head if you're tall.
Excellent location two minutes walk from the Iron Bridge. The pub does excellent food also. Our room was clean, comfortable and overlooked the river. Absolutely stunning, would love to visit again!
An interesting pub with decent food, ideally situated for the iron bridge 10 mins walk away, and the museums . My room was comfortable and warm enough given the -5c outside. it had a part glass floor with industrial archeology visible through it.
Great stay. Room was clean, cosy, old with beams. Itâs an old building so creaky floorboards and little corridors/stairs. A small amount of parking available. Breakfast was good and served at a pub/hotel a couple of doors down. Excellent value for the price and would absolutely stay again
Les points forts : Personnel et service et confort de la chambre
Not amused
I think there is a special place in hell for hotel owners who chose to play loud gigs without having noise isolation in the rooms. My room was shaking (at 22:09) when I came down to ask when this cacophony will end I had to put fingers in my ears. Not sure why the dude who was playing needed it so loud, maybe he thought he was in Wembley arena or something.
Other cons: cups in my room wasn't clean and toilet flush didn't work properly. Oh, and car park is almost always full (there were instances when we couldn't park there).
Pros: very nice breakfast and nice friendly staff
Room was clean and tidy. Lighting wasn't brilliant, eco friendly bulbs = poor lighting.
Food and service were excellent.
Room was looking out over the river Severn.
