I was in the area for the 250th anniversary of the Green Mountain Boys' assault on Fort Ticonderoga and stayed for two nights at "Camp Howard".I had the best time, it's a really cute yet very spacious cottage, remote and yet easily accessible along a private road.It was truly refreshing to not have cell service, it took me a few hours before I truly relaxed. There is a river down below the back of the cottage and I fell asleep at night hearing the noise of the water.Great property in a wonderful area, I will be back!
It was everything that was described. Beautiful cabin and property. Not ideal for hauling a boat or parking one. The shower was cool but so was the water or to hot. But overall a great place and would go back again. There is very little cell service which i liked but was in return hard to communicate with owner's and the tournament staff for the bass tournament we were fishing. But that was also in the ad for cabin. A get away for a couple or a family id rate it a 10 out of 10. For hunting id say the same. Thanks for having us at your beautiful place â€ïž
Exactly as pictured and advertised, this hospitable cabin was perfect for housing 4 kids (plus tiny cosleeping infant!) and 1 parent. It was especially helpful to have ready-made beds, trash service, and the big cooler. Solar power was easy to use, and so was the propane stove and well water. The kids loved the games and books and loft. There is so much to do in the surrounding area. If I could have one wish, it would be that the outhouse be farther from the house. It's hard to keep an outhouse from smelling bad, but it would be nice to have it wafting into the open windows a little less. Not much to be done, and it didn't ruin the fun. We also ran into lots of poison ivy, but a good wash with Dawn soap after a hike kept the rashes away!
