Enjoyed our stay. Really enjoyed the proximity to the beach. Comfortable, quiet and relaxing environment for 4 adults. Appreciated the timely response from property management re: dishwasher.
The home smelled clean when we arrived; however it slowly became apparent that it is the end of the season and the home needs a deep clean. Our socks were dirty and brown within an hour walking around on the upstairs floors. Beds were comfortable and the home provided everything we needed for a short stay. The entry stairs lighting should be addressed; the lights were extremely dim and it was difficult to see even during the day time. The home was a short walk to the beach, but the beach itself seemed to be experience some kind of sand shrimp invasion that made it pretty gross to walk on. I donât know if that is a regular occurrence.
The home was pet friendly which was wonderful but we decided to not to bring our dog. It was clean, comfortable furniture/beds and convenient to beach, however there are lots of stairs with a slight odor of animal which is understandable since its pet friendly. Ocean views were unbelievable and we enjoyed our visit to Netarts very much.
Upon arrival we had to change the bedding on two uof the beds. There were blood and clumps of hair on the sheets. We had to wipe down the kitchen cabinet pulls, the refrigerator was sticky and a shelf was broken. There was a burner that had been left on the stove top. The floors and banisters were sticky. The vanity light in one of the bedrooms was not functioning.
Beautiful views and short walk onto the beach! There are a lot of stairs to get upstairs to the front door, may be difficult for elderly and kids. The front door is also fully glass with no exterior door so it is a bit creepy. There are lots of cooking utensils and they provide laundry detergent as well. There are several board games but most are missing the pieces you need to play. The reason I give 3 stars is communication with the property. it was disappointing to find out the property is ran by a corporation, so you can't communicate with the owners. I booked for two nights and later requested to add a third, and was quoted 90% of the total price to add one night. When I expressed confusion, I was told the price changes up to 4 times per day. Check out time is also 10am which is earlier than most rental homes in my experience.
This rental property gives you great access to all the fun the northern and central Oregon coast has to offer. The views were as advertised and less than a minute you are on the beach. Amenities are close and yet this is outside of towns so the quietness of the area was great. All this and some of the best ice cream around just a short drive away
Great accommodations. The view was awesome. Well stocked kitchen. Well decorated.
Things to improve: needs lots of touch up paint, chairs on deck are too big for little deck, couldnât find a broom to sweep up dog hair.
3 bedrooms on the bottom floor and spacious kitchen/living room upstairs. 2.5 bathrooms. Plenty of pots, pans, cups, etc. There is a small propane grill on the back patio (with propane).
Nice views of bay and ocean. The beach on the bay is nice and sandy and across the street. It has a public restroom too but we never used it.
If you want to walk to where the bay and the ocean meet, it's about 5 or 10 minutes walking to the end of the bay with very long sandbars stretching into the ocean depending on the tide.
Most of the beach goers, and there were not many, were either walking or crabbing.
Other nice beaches are nearby. Oceanside is at the other end of about 2 miles of one continuous beach. There are tidal pools there and fun rock formations. It has public parking and a public bathroom too.
We would gladly stay at this property again. One thing of note, you can't actually speak with an owner. All correspondence is handled by the property manager and it was responsive.
The location makes this place great for accessing the beach with kids. At low tide we had a great time watching a couple groups digging for clams and had fun getting squirted by clams in the flats.
Three flights of stairs to get to the kitchen were a good workout. We would like to stay again in the winter to see the storms roll in over the bay, it has a perfect view.
You get what you pay for with this house. It wasnât super clean, probably because it was old and hard to clean. The living room furniture was stained and several of the dishes were not clean even though they were put away in the cabinets. They didnât leave ample trash bags or laundry/dishwasher detergent - Iâd recommend bringing your own. The whole place could use a facelift - old toilets, beat up walls, rusty towel racks, sand under the furniture (donât drop something under there and expect it to be clean), bedding had some hair from other guests (?), and the carpet on the stairs was pretty dirty. Overall, for the price we paid per night, I guess we got what we paid for. Other properties in Happy Camp are much cleaner and probably worth the extra $ per night. The check in/out process was easy and the communication through VRBO/Vacasa was great. Also - they had plenty of towels (for what thatâs worth).
This property was gorgeous. Absolutely loved it! I appreciate that it's so dog friendly but BEWARE - the balconies are NOT SAFE FOR SMALL DOGS. There are wire lines that a small dog could easily slip under and the fall would be from the 3rd floor to the ground. Likely fatal. Also, the screen door in the living room is busted out at the bottom so a small dog could get through that as well. PLEASE CONSIDER bringing screens or baby gates if you have a small dog, otherwise you would need to keep the doors to the 2 balconies closed at all times.
Other than that, this property is perfect! The stairs are a bit of a workout but that was okay.
Overall, the stay at this property was ok. The beach access is great and the location is quiet. There are very few food options available without going into Tillamok, so bring food or be sure to stop at the Safeway in Tillamok on the way in.
The house lived up to the reviews for the most part. A bit run down and not the cleanest house Iâve stayed in at Happy Camp, but ok. Lots of towels and good dishwear variety, but dirty carpet, dirty wood floors, mattresses that should be replaced and in need of some overall maintenance. In general, could use a good, thorough cleaning.
