The house itself was nice, however there was a plumbing issue the day we got there. A pipe burst (which is not great for the owner of course, I feel bad for that). They messaged us a couple hours before our stay was supposed to start, saying we wouldnât be able to access the basement, but our stay shouldnât be interrupted otherwise. They said the leak was stopped and we would be fine in the rest of the house. However, the next day, there were people working in the basement all day, cutting new flooring, blasting music, etc. I messaged the host and tried to revolve the issue, but she said the people working would be leaving soon. They were there from 8-5 pm, it was not soon unfortunately. The basement door also did not lock, so we couldnât ensure people wouldnât be coming into the main portion of the house. We also had messaged her about the front door lock not working: she repeatedly told us the door code, and we repeatedly told her that code wasnât working. I asked for a portion of our money back for the inconvenience, she said she couldnât do anything but offer us 2 free nights in the future. We ended up leaving early because the noise was crazy, and we couldnât really leave the house without being able to lock it/get back in. VRBO was able to refund, but the host was unfortunately not helpful in the least.
