Beautiful modern cabin. Had everything we need. Very quiet and beautiful scenery. A bit of a drive from app state but we enjoyed the beautiful drive up the mountain! Would stay here again for sure.
Very cute little house that the listing pictures accurately represents. Only thing I would change is putting some curtains or blinds up in the living room. The huge window is beautiful during the day but at night you canât see out and it feels like thereâs no privacy if you wanted to spend time any time in the living room after sundown. Also when I arrived my phone was in sos mode. Thankfully I had the door code screenshotted on my phone otherwise I would not have been able to enter. Mightâve had to drive 10 min to gain enough service to open the app.
This was a nice cozy cabin in the mountains. Our favorite memory is watching the fireflies come out at twilight on the front porch. The view was magical. Our kids had a great time- they played outside in the yard, played chess and enjoyed the dvd collection at night. The only negative was the driveway- I was worried when we first got there, that our 10 year old minivan wouldnât be able to get up the incline on gravel. We made 3 attempts and finally were successful. I think the biggest improvement would be a paved driveway- itâs not very long, but the gravel is loose and our van struggled. We went to Blowing Rock one day and to one of the river beaches suggested in the cabinâs binder. Thanks for the recommendations. There were plenty of towels and blankets in the house, which I really appreciated as thatâs not always the case! All in all, we really enjoyed the cabin.
The property is very well maintained with all the amenities (like fully operational kitchen, with dishwasher and cutlery) that you would need for a long stay. The property is off from the main road so traffic noise is absent. At night we experienced fireflies (after almost 7 years) which was the star of our trip. Boone NC downtown and city center is just around 15-20 minutes drive and you can get everything that you want for the stay (Walmart, etc.). Mornings and evenings were filled with the songs from the birds. First time saw a hummingbird with two little ones in flight (possibly juveniles) All the touristy places and not so touristy places are near to where the cabin is. The property is surrounded by multiple farm land properties and would give one an experience of the country side. Todd Merchantile should not be missed (is an old bakery around 20 minutes drive from the property). We had no complains from our stay and we are hopeful to return here during fall.
We had a really good time. It was a really nice place to stay. The host are very nice people and helped is out when our plans changed a litt bit.The place was right about in the middle of the different places we had to be at, so it worked very well. Thanks for a great stay.
Had a great family get away. Enjoyed sitting on the porch in the cooler mornings and evenings. Picture window in the living room really made the house. Lots of cabinet space for our groceries, we cooked a lot and the kitchen was well stocked with all we needed for meals. This was a great place for the price and location. I would suggest upgrading the mattress in the master (I only tried this one so I donât know about the others) it is always great when you can sleep well when away from home. Apart from that our stay was still 5 stars and we would come back again.
The cabin was perfect for a quick getaway. Very clean and tidy, close to Boone and many hiking trails. Renters should be aware that the road leading to the house is gravel and quite rutted in spots, especially right in front of the house, with lots of loose gravel. This made it tricky to make it up the very steep driveway with only 2WD, I spun out a couple of times in my RAV4.
Our family of 3 loved the quiet and peace of this tranquil paradise. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed birding, relaxing on the front porch, and getting sweet visits from local dogs and cats. It was great being so close to Boone and Elk Knob while also feeling very private. We will definitely stay here again!
This was perfect for our weekend in Boone. Host was amazing, wonderful communication. The Home was exactly as listed. We were there for a soccer tournament and love having a home to relax in between the games. Went hiking at the nearby Elk Knob Park. Everything was pretty convenient yet away from the "city". I've been booking with VRBO for over 15 years and have always had great experiences.
Stayed the weekend for our New River Marathon and this was the perfect stay! We couldnât get over the Mountain Views and enjoyed the front porch with the swing. Got some great recovery rest outside in the afternoon and had fun exploring downtown Boone. Wished we could have slow mornings on the couch every day!
More than enough space for me and my husband. We came with no more plans than to rest and eat out and that's what we did! We had everything we needed, and it was nice and peaceful. My only complaint is the grass needed mowing BUT it was raining while we were there, so what can you do?
We enjoyed our stay in Boone this weekend at the home on Rich Mountain. Early morning coffee with the view from the front porch was a great way to start each day. It is super clean and organized. This is the place for those who enjoy a leisurely drive on mountain roads.
This little cabin is perfect for a weekend away. We have 3 kids, so they fit together in the room with bunk beds, and my husband and I got the room with the queen bed. There's only 1 bathroom, but the water pressure was good, the kitchen has everything we needed, the living room is cozy, and the front porch has a swing and a great view. It was nice to sit by the window with our morning coffee and watch the birds at the birdfeeder.
Nice & cozy place. We specifically enjoy the wood stove as it was cold & windy. Not secluded as they are neighbors on both sides. Beautiful mountain view up front and a swing to enjoy the view. We would stay there again and maybe hike at the state park nearby.
The place is honestly bigger than it looks in pictures. Was everything we needed and more. Kitchen has basic necessities as far as cooking wares and utensils go - but we didnât stay long enough to really utilize anything beyond the coffee pot. Beautiful morning views!
The day we got there, they lost power due to an ice storm. We were not able to stay there, but I was very impressed with the owners being quick to respond and quick to process our refund.
The host was very responsive and accommodating. The home was not as clean as we would have liked as you could tell it hasn't had a good deep clean in a while. When the description says 4WD is recommended in winter, I would say you need it all the time. It had rained quite a bit before and during our stay, and we barely got up the driveway in our van. But, overall it was a good place to stay. Our kids loved it, especially playing chess in the living room.
