Friendly staff. Accommodations were clean, and spacious for a Tokyo hotel. Location-wise it is located in central Ueno and right near Ameyoko, which is perfect for some of the best food in Tokyo.

Really friendly staff especially the breakfast workers. Loved that breakfast (which had really fresh and great selections including fresh mini melonpan!) was included along with a drink bar from 2pm to 2am also there's a water dispenser in the main lobby with ice which was really helpful in the Japan heat. There's a laundromat but it is very popular and there's only 2 machines so try to time it well. Rooms were typical Tokyo hotel sized rooms. Also there's a luggage scale in the lobby which was very helpful and they can store your luggage if you arrive early or leave later! Would highly recommend as great value considering the breakfast, amenities and location (next to Ueno station).

Pros: 1. Very close to Ueno metro station (1 min walk) and Ueno JR train station (5 mins walk) - both stations have enough connections that you could travel anywhere in Tokyo with ease. 2. Free drinks area in the afternoon and evening for coffee, tea, soda, ice bucket. 3. Buffet style breakfast - Japanese style only, mostly seafood and savoury, but some variety with breads and pastries for vegetarians. Some days the soup and rice/noodles dishes would be vegetarian but not daily. The variety is good enough for a short stay. 4. Helpful staff, speak conversational English, and helped with luggage delivery services. Cons: 1. Small room - but this seems to be standard size for most Tokyo hotels at this price point. 2. Breakfast could be a bit difficult for vegetarians, particularly if you're staying for a long period.
