The room at the Hotel Niwa was clean and beautifullly decorated in a manor that catered to traditional Japanese style and simplicity with western comforts also in mind. This was exactly what we had been looking for in a Japanese stay during our holiday. The staff were very helpful and we were delighted to learn about the manager's production of delicious local honey in the hotel. The gardens and internal courtyard were an authentic and restful touch that we could experience from the restaurant.

The hotel had a zen atmosphere. The zen garden, tea area and massage chairs on the third floor were relaxing. Our room was tiny and very cramped. I would choose a larger room next time.

Great boutique hotel with good restaurant and shopping within walking distance. Very clean and super helpful and pleasant staff. Our special thanks to Mina and Carolina for lots of assistance during our 4-night stay. WiFi was spotty but still highly recommend.

I have stayed in many hotels in Tokyo and Hotel Niwa is by far my favourite. The amenities are great especially the laundry facilities. Also the location is close to stations. I will definitely stay there again. I forgot to mention the restaurants. The food was wonderful and the sevice was perfect.

The hotel is very nice and stylish. We had the buffet one morning and the Japanese breakfast another morning. Both were excellent. The one problem this hotel seems to consistently have, as noted by other reviewers, is that the Wi-Fi is terrible.

We reserved this beautiful hotel very last minute to escape the noise of Shinjuku. It felt authentic and peaceful. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the relaxing amenities were a major plus. Would highly recommend for couples 35+ looking for a quieter stay in Tokyo.
