The check-in was great and very easy. I wanted a place with an oven so I rented this cozy little place. It was very nice but we did have some trouble. I went to heat up the oven but we could not get the gas stove to light. I contacted the host. She did respond immediately the first time. I texted to tell her a we found a chair that was broken. The rungs at the bottom of the chair came out. First one rung, then after sitting on the chair for a few minutes both rungs came out. Then i texted to tell her about the issue with the oven but i never did hear from her the rest of the night. Very disappointing, as I had a dish of food i planed to take to a family reunion the next day. So we had to make different plans. She did contact me the next day to say she was coming to see about the oven. Later, she let me know she had gotten new lighters and that you had to push the knob in to hear the clicking and then the lighter could be used to light the oven. Instructions should be near the oven so one would know that. The lighter was not the issue. I have a gas oven in my home but i do not need to push the button in so it lights. I also noticed that the chair was still there so I'm not sure it is repaired. Also, my daughter chose not to sleep on the futon as there was a huge stain on it and it did not lend itself to feeling comfortable about sleeping on it.
Adorable place. Super cute inside. Well stocked. Close to where we needed to be. There was just one thing. There were these beetle bugs coming in the back bedroom door or cracks under the door. I couldn't tell. I kept trying to catch them and throw outside or kill . I had to put towels under there to stop them and kinda had the heebie jeebies and I didn't sleep or use the bedroom. It was a super cute place though. I did love it.
Good price, easy to get to from highway, close to BGSU, great communication from host, ceiling is low in most of the tiny home (would not rent if 5â10â or taller), sleeping couch was in need of repair (an entire corner is sagging)
Great stay, clean and comfortable! Within easy walking distance to the bars, but in a quiet neighborhood. Owner/property manager was very responsive when I needed help. Keep in mind if you're tall, it is a "tiny house": the kitchen ceiling is probably 6'4" or so.
Despite this being in a neighborhood of well kept homes, the homes on this property (maybe a collection of student rentals) are deteriorating. Doors and trim are rotting to the point that sunlight and insects get through. Though all of the frequently used surfaces (sinks, shower, counter) were clean, the place is in need of a deep cleaning. When I moved a table away from the A/C, the wall was falling apart and had many spider sacs and the floor had many dead ants. The blinds and A/C units were sticky and dusty. The furniture was uncomfortable and the sleeper sofa had a huge stain. The listing mentioned the low ceilings but not the tiny awkward steps between each room. What I found most odd was a door in the bedroom with a regular keyed entry. There was no lock that could only be operated from inside. I felt really uncomfortable being on the ground floor alone with a rotting door three feet from the bed and no idea who might have a key. Maybe my expectations were too high for the price, but I could not recommend this place.
This is an incredibly charming little place; the photos do not do justice to it. It's in a great location in a quiet, historic neighborhood near the BGSU campus and walkable to downtown restaurants and shops. The floors are beautiful hardwoods and the decor is great...all is small and cozy, but there is a full kitchen including a dishwasher, and a nice shower in the bathroom. You'll love how they use every cubic inch of space so creatively. It's better if you're not tall, because you'll have to duck a few times between rooms if you are, but you quickly learn. A great use of this unique space. It's just a unique experience. We will gladly stay here again when visiting our student.
