We stay in short term rentals multiple times a year with no complaints so I would think my expectations are reasonable, however, Hunter's Hideaway unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired. While we had a safe place to sleep during our stay, the biggest issue I have is that this cabin was listed as secluded. Between the verbiage in the listing and the images of the cabin, it gives the impression that there are no close neighbors. The two cabins immediately next door prove that this is incredibly inaccurate. We would not have booked this if the listing was truthful. While the cabin was easy to access, reasonably clean and had great water pressure with plenty of hot water, there were other concerns about the cabin: poison ivy growing on the deck immediately next to the front door, no door to the master bath, no smoke detector in the main area of the cabin, a large amount of mouse droppings around hot tub, rotted kitchen cabinet from past water damage, half broken shelf in master bedroom, master bed wasnât very stable, and the master shower is very difficult to get in and out of. And a tip envelope for the cleaning staff even though we paid the cleaning fee? No thanks - I can't say we will ever rent from Bear Tootin Cabins again.
