Very nice. Minor issues with the overall cabin, but to be expected at the price point. Management is easy to work with though, which made it a very pleasant experience.
My girlfriend and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary here! It was a perfect little get away and great location being 15-18 minutes south of Traverse city! The property was exactly everything I saw online which is always a relief. The things we had noticed (for future experiences) was 2 light bulbs were out, the screen door doesnât lock (which I imagine is why a wooden slab is there as a 2nd mechanism), the back of the toilets were pretty loose, and there was a âseptic?â odor coming from one of the bathrooms. We also want to be clear we arenât hard to please and regardless of what was said above didnât detract from our stayâweâre easy going, but for future renters that may not be thatâs why we explained ourselves. Outside of a couple blemishes, we had a great time and will be back!
I REALLY wanted to leave a great review but I am unable. The location is perfect and the staff communicated really well and tried to be accommodating. On the surface the initial experience is great, until you look closer. These properties are all probably similar, but ours needs a LOT of TLC. Small things make a huge difference. The maintenance is not handled well. Tiles installed badly and many cracked, the toilets aren't stable and probably leak into the sub floor because the floor bows in at least on bathroom. Missing or burnt out light bulbs, the AC unit doesn't work on regular cooling and barely worked on Turbo mode. Thank god they have fans and it was cooler when we were there. Towel bar was barely attached and almost hanging off the wall. There was a damp wall in the stairwell as well and the stairs are dangerous. I wouldn't go up there and the husband almost fell coming down. Everything seemed clean but the floors haven't been mopped all summer or at least mopped well. These are just a few things we saw.Unfortunately, we won't return until they consider updating the properties and making sure they are safer. Gravel would be nice on the main walking areas. When it rains, it is very slippery. If you are older or have a handicap, I recommend not choosing to stay here. I mean no disrespect to anyone but we paid a lot of money to be uncomfortable and we left a day early due to it. We take one vacation a year and save for it. We were really disappointed.
Lovely cabin. Had everything we needed. It was nice that it seemed remote but you could get to places you wanted to see/visit within a 20-30 minute drive.
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, the air conditioner, stove, and TV worked well. The best part for us was the ability to open swim on the lake. We had lovely morning and evening swims and enjoyed the Dunes or nice meals Travers City during the day. The lake is quite pretty. I also really enjoyed the hottub that overlooks the lake. We were there during the week and it was nice and quiet. We enjoyed local beers on the porch over the lake after a swim. There is also a pretty running route around the lake.
The cabin was perfect for the 4 of us and our puppy. Very relaxing, laid back atmosphere. We used the boat and kayaks and loved the lake! Caught some bass, some small bluegill and a northern pike! Our hosts were quite friendly and responsive. The extras in the bathroom are a nice touch! It should be clearly stated that this is shared property. The firepit was next to our cabin but folks from other cabins were using it every night; one night got exceptionally late and loud. Also, the listing should probably be updated; there is no screened porch and some of the furniture has been updated. All in all we loved it and had a great time in Michigan!
A Serene Getaway in the Woods with Modern Comforts
We stayed in this beautifully updated cabin nestled in the woods, overlooking a gorgeous lake, for four days. The cabin offered us a perfect blend of seclusion and tranquility.
We had never been here and weren't sure what to expect. When we arrived, it was very clean and everything felt new and modern, while retaining a bit of the rustic cabin feel that we wanted. The remodeled kitchen and two bathrooms were especially impressive. The beds were comfortable with plenty of extra pillows.
The hosts were friendly, responsive and answered our questions promptly.
The location was great. When we weren't hanging out and enjoying the view, we took a few quick trips to see some sites like Mission Point Lighthouse and the vineyards on Old Mission Peninsula.
It's a peaceful retreat for friends, couples, families. Next time, we will be sure to rent one of their pontoons!
My family and I rented this home for a few days. Our kids are 14 and 16.
A few highlights:
-This home is no longer a log cabin. The sun-room was converted to a bedroom.
-It lacked a few amenities such as extra trash bags and extra towels. The hand soap in one of the bathrooms was extremely watered down.
-The layout is great and every room was well maintained.
-The home was really clean.
-The kitchen was stocked enough to get you by. They have a charcoal grill, charcoal fluid and lighter, dishes, pots and pans, coffee, creamer, sugar and coffee maker.
-If youâre bringing kids, bring some floats and other beach toys
-The fire pit was nice and outside seating area
-Outside property was nice and views of the lake
We would definitely come back. The home and property was great! I think the property is geared more towards adults but if you pack some beach toys, the kiddos could have a great time too.
Beautiful setting for a last-minute getaway. The place was clean and comfortable. The beds were SO comfortable! My son just loved sleeping in the bunds under the eaves with a great view of the lake. The kitchen was simple but had everything we needed to cook meals. Only thing we missed is there was no sponge or brush for washing dishes but we improvised.
