Completely outdated!!

This hotel was so poorly out of date for the price. Peeling wallpaper, bathrooms were so small the toilet paper was touching the seat, ironing board cover hadn't been replaced and was in shreds, desk chair worn out. I have stayed at Motel 8s that were better than this. I was super disappointed and would never recommend unless it was around $100 a night. This is a historic property but still could be updated.

Needs Some Cleaning!!

Our last day there, we went down at 10:20 for breakfast. They said it was a 1/2 hour wait, and it would be lunch menu by then. We went up to our room, packed, and came back down to wait for lunch. At 11:00am I got a call that we needed to leave. So, we obliged and did not stay for lunch. Totally unsatisfactory experience. Two other things. We stayed there last year around the same time. The elevator was then, and is still now filthy, floor walls and door. Everyone uses this every day, why is that? The windows in our room were also filthy. I think that, for the rates you charge, we should not be looking at "filthy" in our stay there. Why have these things not been cleaned? We won't be staying there again.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Room was clean and parking is available onsite. Walking distance to main street filled with shopping and restaurants. It's a great location with a restaurant and a top floor lounge overlooking the lake and surrounding area.

Nice hotel but didn't get room that was booked

Lots of pros to this place - friendly staff, water pressure was amazing, roof top bar & staff were incredible, nice restaurant with happy hour. We didn't use the pool but it looked very nice. Location was excellent for walkability to restaurants, shopping, bars, and the lake. Big Con - we booked and paid for a "Cityview" room which is marketed as a room the in Tower building but was put in a room in the Annex building. Our room was small (couldn't easily close the closet because the hangers stuck out, not deep enough) overlooked the parking lot, the bathroom was tiny with peeling wallpaper. The hotel blamed Hotels.com for booking the cityview room when it was not available. Seems if you partner with a third party booking vendor, you should have this type of situation figured out, or at least offer a discount for a different room that cost us $250+ per night. The hotel only offered a cancelation and full refund but we had no where else to stay at 4pm on a Saturday. Tip - make sure to call ahead to the hotel directly and confirm your actual room.
