Everything was perfect and hosts were very helpful. Only problem was the power cuts which are obviously beyond their control.

Stayed three nights in March 2025. This is a bed and breakfast. You get a GREAT breakfast every morning (we treated it as brunch) included in the price of the hotel - tropical fruit, strong coffee, fried eggs, bread, honey, fresh guava or mango juice. Everything you'd want to see in Trinidad is walkable from here, within 10-15 minutes. Yunio, who works there, served as our driver - for $40 we got a half day tour of Valle de los Ingenios and for $25, we were taken back and forth to the beach. Both were well worth it! Facility is clean and well kept. Room was very comfortable with an enormous, comfortable bed. Great deal - highly recommended! I'd recommend two full days in Trinidad: There's a 4 PM walking tour that starts in front of Lucha Contra Bandidos. $10 per person, great for orienting. Do this day #0 if you get in town soon enough. Day #1 - The beach (Playa Ancon). Yunio will take you and pick you up. Lunch at a restaurant there. Evening in Trinidad. Go to Rin Tin Tin for a drink and to watch the sunset, but then go eat at La Botija a block away - better food and music. Day #2 - Tour Valle de los Ingenios, have lunch at the Mirador on this tour - cheap, good sandwiches with a great view. Afternoon with museums/shopping in Trinidad. We ate at La Botija again - music was too good to not go back. Casa de La Musica is highly touted. Cool setting, but much of the same band from La Botija, only tourists there, and starts at 10 PM.

Very quirky colonial style house in à cobbled street - comfortable bed with very stylish bed linen and pillows . Generous breakfast and peaceful garden for an afternoon rest after a morning exploring. Helpful staff. Great location . Be aware that electricity in Trinidad is very erratic and so some things may not work ( Wi-Fi and AC)

Cute hidden gem!

Perfectly located about 1 block from the main square sits this wonderful gem of an accommodation. It was easy to walk the town. The hosts were wonderful, always available for anything we needed. The property itself is well maintained, clean and comfortable. There is a courtyard we were able to relax in as well as some seating near the entrance. The property is located on a walking street, however, taxi's were allowed to enter to pick us up right in front. Each day we were provided a wonderful and filling breakfast. I would recommend this place and stay here again.

The room was lovely, a huge bed plus a seating area with loads of cushions. Hot water in the shower even during one of the power cuts, and they had their own supply in the evenings so I wasn't in the dark, as I have been at some other places..

Amazing hosts and great casa

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Barmarin and would recommend this casa for staying in Trinidad. The casa was very clean and well taken care of with a great courtyard to enjoy breakfasts and a lounge area inside. The hosts were absolutely wonderful and we can't say enough good things about them. They were friendly, helpful with information, incredibly accommodating to our needs and essentially drove us to all of our activities while also connecting us with knowledgeable guides. The casa is in an excellent location being close to Plaza Mayor and all the main sights, but also on a very quiet street to allow for a good night's sleep. There were frequent power outages, but they were always willing to run the generator for showers. The only downside was that our room got hot at night. But overall, this is a superior place to stay.

We had an amazing stay at Casa Barmarin. It is a beautifully decorated place, right in the heart of Trinidad’s historical center and close to great restaurants. Highlight to our friendly host Zuly, who received us in such a warming way, making us feel at home. We also recommend the driver and friend of the house Junior, who was a great company during our travels. Highly recommended.

We stayed for two nights at Barmarine and had a fantastic experience. The host was incredibly nice and helpful—she arranged taxis for us to visit the park, the beach, and even a taxi back to Havana, all at resonable prices. The house is conveniently located near the town center, with plenty of restaurants nearby. While there were occasional power outages (due to a nation-wide fuel shortage), the house has a generator, which made things much easier and more comfortable. We’d also like to give special mention to our taxi driver, César, who was introduced by the host. César, a doctor by training, accompanied us during our day trip in Trinidad. He was extremely knowledgeable, spoke almost perfect English, and acted not only as a driver but also as a guide, helping us understand the local history and culture. We highly recommend Barmarine for anyone visiting the area!

Fantastic casa

We loved this casa which is in a great locarion. Simple but tastfully decorated with a shared patio at the back. Felix who looked after us was super helpful with recommendations etc - Felix and his brothers and mum who run the casa really work hard to make your stay perfect. The breakfasts were great, we particularly loved the little hotcakes. The casa also has a generator to power some lights and plugs during a blackout so you can still see and charge phones etc (important when you can consider there 3 blackouts of different lengths whilst we were there). We also did the guided city tour with Felix's brother - would highly recommend doing this even if Trinidad is quite small. His brother shared so much interesting info and took us into places we would have missed otherwise. We would definitely stay here again if back in Trinidad

The Best Place to Stay in Trinidad

This stay was incredible! Felix and his family are so friendly and accomodating. Camila, the owner, was also super helpful and communicative prior to our trip. The hotel is absolutely stunning. And interior deigner/decorator's dream. It's beautifully decorated in keeping with the Cuban heritage. The room was very clean and quiet Breakfast was also great! We could not fault this place one bit. Highly recommended when staying in Trinidad!!

Our experience at Casa Barmarin was absolutely wonderful. The 3 brothers and their mother were very accommodating and attentive. We had an informative and enjoyable tour of the sugar plantations in the area with one of the brothers. If we had had more time the brothers would have arranged a tour of the city. If you are visiting Trinidad Cuba we highly recommend staying at Casa Barmarin!

I can't say enough about how lovely the Casa Barmarin is. Because of its comfort and hospitality, we had a fantastic visit and will definitely return to Trinidad. The owner, Camila, was very communicative and accommodating. She helped us arrange guitar lessons for our son (we highly recommend the instructor, Juan Julio Urias!). The three brothers managing the property were WONDERFUL. We looked forward to lounging around in the afternoons in hopes that Felix might pull up a chair and make conversation with us (he often did). Duviel is a Cuban historian and tour guide. I learned (or tried to) a semester's worth of Cuban culture and history in an afternoon tour with him. He also took us on a gorgeous hike to one of the waterfalls in Gran Parque Natural Topes de Collantes. On our next visit, I hope that he will be available to take us to the Valle de los Ingenios. Aramis, the third brother, is so sweet and helpful. He was especially observant and would follow up with advice and ideas based on the kids and my interests. In addition to these brothers going above and beyond to make out stay comfortable, the accommodations were excellent -- super clean and very comfortable beds -- and the breakfasts were fantastic, especially the deluxe fruit plates. 1,000 thank yous for making our first trip to Trinidad and Cuba so special. We can't wait to return.
