Blizzard warning and Roads Close

There was a blizzard warning, and the roads were closed coming from the west and coming from the east there was no way to get to the home. The management company would not reschedule my visit to a later date nor would they provide any refund of any sort, very unprofessional business, I would not book through them again.

Comfortable, convenient house for a group

We loved staying here for a group ski trip in Tahoe! House was clean, conveniently located near all the ski resorts, and beds were comfortable. Overall no complaints!

Says sleeps 8 but one bed is a pull out sofa so it might not work for everyone. Also there was only the minimum amount of dishes and mugs so we were scrambling a little to have dishes for meals.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the house- great location, great street, lovely view and amazing patio. Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and felt updated. Even the beds had nice mattresses. We loved the simulated fireplace in the master- great ambiance for the mountains! My only complaint is that all the kitchenware (pots, pans, cutting board, knives, etc) felt like an overly used hodgepodge of things. Scratched and dented pans, worn out flimsy cutting board and dull knives. I had nicer used kitchenware fresh out of college than this kitchen has. The dishwasher was also very cheap- seemed out of place for a million dollar plus house. For a small amount of money, the owner could really improve the kitchen experience. Particularly if they want renters to keep glassware and flatware fresh and clean. Best advice, bring your own gear if you like to cook. I always bring my own chefs knife, cutting boards and spices when traveling by car. Thanks goodness I did that this time.Overall I’d definitely rent again, just hope to see the kitchen refreshed next time. There’s a kitchen sale at Macy’s everyday- hint, hint:-)

The house is very well located on a quiet street but close to the grocery stores and other amenities (5/10 min drive). The property has a lot of natural light that streams in from the large windows. We are a family with 2 adults and 2 teenagers. With the 3 bedrooms all on the upper level it was very convenient. The upper level had a small study space that was helpful and the balcony on this level was also nice to use in the evenings. The week in June when we were here was really warm so we made full use of the fans that were provided in each of the bedrooms. It would be nice to have one fan provided for the lower level as well. Overall it was a very pleasant stay for us and we would recommend it to anyone who needs a break from the busy city life.

Great cabin, quiet neighborhood.

I visit Truckee at least once a year during the summer, and stay in the same area due to the quiet neighborhood and central location. I thought something would be different due to everyone getting out after COVID. Pleasantly surprised that Truckee hasn’t changed. Cabin was clean, even though the availability showed it had been occupied the night before. No issues with cleanliness! Appliances all worked and was glad to see all updated televisions in most of the rooms. NOTE - If a rental still has the old “tube type” televisions, that is is sign the owners don’t want to spend any money. Turnkey manages this property and they are doing a pretty good job. You can text them with any questions and get a quick response. Also, they routinely update you with any and all information regarding approaching dates, fees due, and cabin details. Look forward to renting again!

Walked into a nightmare!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I traveled over 4 hours to Truckee. We snowboarded for several hours and arrive to a home that was not cleaned or sanitized. We primarily chose Turnkey as an option for our rental property because of their strict Covid cleaning guidelines listed on their website.It took over an hour for housekeepers to arrive. We were required to leave the home for up to 3 to 4 hours. By the time we were able to check into the actual home it was 10 PM. You could only imagine how difficult this was with two young children along with being exhausted from traveling and snowboarding all day. We were not prepared physically to have to be outdoors while it snowed for over four hours while waiting to check into our the unit. We were also concerned with whether or not the home was properly “cleaned” within the timeframe given. I have reached out to Turnkey several times and have not received a response from anyone. It’s completely unacceptable and unprofessional for such a large company to fail so miserably.

Nice place, great location

Everything was easy. The check in instructions made things a breeze. Great notes throughout the house to help guide us through the amenities. The iPad with restaurants, local attractions, etc. was a nice touch. Location was wonderful. Quiet neighborhood surrounded by trees. Felt very peaceful. Close to trails and downtown Truckee but felt like you were in your own private paradise. Would absolutely stay here again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Arrival was not easy, if it is dark outside, the house numbers are impossible to see from the street. There were no lights on outside. The bear box doesn't have the numbers on it. House heater was set at 55. By midnight, the house was still at 60. There are few heater points and upstairs, the rooms have no heater vents. The heat must come in from the door, via bathrooms and downstairs living room. The gas stove heater was off, lighting up the pilot was not too complicated but took time. That heater will put lots of heat. Make sure you turn the fan overhead on the ceiling to help you distribute heat upstairs. We set the heat at 68 all night and left doors open as instructed. By morning, downstairs was warm, upstairs was still on the chilly side. The WIFI did not work at all! the Guest wifi network is horrible. We had only 3 people in the house, could not even power up one laptop or iPad. We did turn the router off / on to see if that would help. TV works fine. The Netflix app did work with our account. Kitchen - not bad over all, but lacks some supplies. The house sleeps 8, you will be doing dishes after every meal. Not enough silverware. Basic things are supplied, but no aluminum foil or plastic wrap, so be ready to bring ziplock bags for your stuff to take away. The light switches are out of control. Took walking around all walls to figure out the lights. Several overhead lights did not work. Cleaning - mostly good other than spiderwebs around the house. Comfortable beds (king and bunks) The bunk beds are very shaky although it is a sturdy structure. Might need to have a few screws tightened. Garage - very narrow doors, quite standard in Tahoe. Big cars might not fit. One of the doors did not work. Last renters left garbage inside the garage, it was never removed by the cleaner. TurnKey offered to come over and remove it, but their person never came by. I finally gave up. Right at check out, the power went out on the ar

2-story getaway within great HOA

House has room for two small families. Accommodations were cozy and the rental management did a good job to make sure all the amenities were easy to use. The best part was the guest passes to the pool and Donner Lake which allowed access (after a fee). Only downside was that it was a bit overpriced and there hadn't been a detailed cleaning in a while, e.g. dirty glassware, dirty washing machine, moldy spots on shower curtain, debris in drawers.

Nailed It! Everything About This Place Is Spot On!

My 5 person family spent a glorious weekend at this fantastic, comfortable and spacious home. Great for big or small groups. Very comfortable beds with new sheets and bedding. Fantastic kitchen/great room! Two big screen TVs (one is a smart TV). Really nice attention to details throughout. Very convenient for skiing because the home is at the lower part of Tahoe Donner. I’d definitely recommend this home and can’t wait to come back!

Comfortable Home in a Convenient Location!

We spent a weekend in Tahoe Donner and enjoyed this spacious and comfortable home. It was very clean and well maintained and the owner was great. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen, dining and main sitting areas all make up one large great room which is perfect for hanging out together making meals, playing games or watching a movie after a day of outdoor activities. A great place for families or friends to get together! We also loved being able to hike into downtown Truckee given the nice weather we were enjoying that weekend. The club amenities are another bonus--pool, hot tub, workout area, etc. Thanks, we'll be back!

Great big house in good location

Had a great time at the house. Plenty of space, everything clean, decent furniture. And a nice big garage. Driveway is kind of steep, so might be an issue on snowy/icy days, but we had nice weather. Too bad the big jacuzzi bathtub was said to be out of order. but the double showerhead in the master bedroom bath was still very nice. I love going to Tahoe Donner cross country skiing and the Tahoe Donner guest card at the house worked and provided a discount.
