Rural barn conversion

The Old Stable, Cascadden Barn is a lovely Country retreat perfect for couples, located at the end of a rough gravel grass centred farm track(uneven in places) in rural Cornwall close to the village of Stithians near Falmouth. Set in a stunning quiet location with wonderful far reaching countryside views over farmland into the distance. The accommodation is a one bedroom attached Barn conversion on one level(only one step up to bedroom).

Set amongst the most beautiful countryside in Cornwall, along narrow Cornish lanes with traditional Cornish hedges a little off the beaten track but still within a short walk(About 1 mile) to the local village of Stithians which offers a traditional Cornish pub, local shop, church, and many more amenities.

The Old Stable has one double bedroom with exposed beams and en-suite shower room. The open plan Lounge/Kitchen/Diner is light and airy, with access to wireless internet(subject to availability due to rural location) , TV with (Netflix etc subject to internet availability), over-looking open fields and stunning views across the valley.
Fully fitted kitchen, with Fridge/freezer. Oven & Hob microwave, washing machine.
Ample Parking small secure garden(suitable for one dog) with BBQ and patio with garden table and chairs.
Bedlinen, towels electric & heating are all included.

9 miles Truro
Centrally located for all areas.
Beaches at Porthtowan, Portreath, Perranporth, Glynvasse, Gwithian are all a short drive away.
Public footpaths in the surrounding area offering stunning scenery. Also cycle tracks and lanes leading onto the great flat lode, the Bissoe trail can be reached easily by car or even cycled to.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Old Stable. It’s wonderfully remote, which we loved, though it might not suit everyone. We had a car, so getting out and about was easy. Communication was excellent, and the owners were incredibly accommodating and flexible around our stay due to illness in the family, which we really appreciated. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely little cottage, perfect for the two of us. Very clean throughout. Heating was very good and generous. White bedding and towels- perfect. Very pet friendly with multiple sized bowls, dog bed and treats. TV signal a bit erratic. Garden furniture could do with being replaced. Directions provided by owner were very good. However the route from Stithians to the cottage, whilst described as ‘narrow roads’, were really very narrow with few passing places. Access track to the cottage was in a poor condition. We’ve stayed in many cottages in Cornwall over the past 20 odd years so we’re aware of ‘Cornish roads’ but these ones were very narrow. Not helped by some folk who refused to give way despite being closer to the passing place. For this reason alone we won’t be returning.

We enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Old Stable (barn conversion) cottage. It was lovely and clean, well furnished and very quiet being in a rural location. It was a bit of an adventure finding the cottage and every evening thereafter simply due to the small tight little lanes, typical for Cornwall, but directions from host were very good.

Very clean and tidy accommodation. We had no pets but did notice pet food bowls and dog biscuits in cupboard.Kitchen was excellent and well equipped with just about every item you could imagine.We enjoyed our stay immensely and loved the rural aspect and quiet and peaceful surroundings. We would definitely use again and tell our friends.Thank you very much everything was superb and very enjoyable. The wifi and reception for phones and internet were amazing..

Absolutely love this property. Only downsides are the internet can be a little patchy and the final road is very rocky (could do with tarmac or something) but love it here. Peaceful clean and has everything you need for a getaway. Really friendly and accommodating hosts. Will visit again

We booked the property because of it's location and proximity to our friends but we were blown away by the quality of the conversion and the comfort the fixtures and fittings gave us and also such a peaceful location with views of rolling countryside .

Comfy converted barn with open rural views and for the size of the property was great value for money. Quietly situated in West Cornwall with access to all that beautiful area has to offer. If youre after a peaceful few days then this is the place for you.

Cornish natural beauty at its best.

Beautifully converted stable in a beautiful landscape, the view from the kitchen/livingroom is gorgeous and the night sky is breathtaking. If one wants to get away from the hectic of a big city to slow down and relax, this is your place. We stayed for four days and totally enjoyed ourselves there.

Fabulous getaway

A fantastically quiet property tucked away down narrow Cornish lanes. Spotlessly clean with a well equipped kitchen, our stay could not have been more comfortable. Spacious living area allowed both of us to spread out, whether it was a lazy morning with a book, or an evening with a film on the TV. Communications with the owner could not have been quicker or more helpful. Our only regret? no space to rebook for next year 😕

Very nice cottage in central Cornwall location. Everything as advertised and good communication with property manager. Definitely need a car and be ready for “single track with passing place” roads that are very common in the area.

Wonderfully quiet, but first you have to get there!

The property itself was excellent - spotlessly clean, all amenities and excellent welcome pack on arrival. Due to it's isolated location lovely and quiet with great views. But... Despite good directions it was difficult to find, and as I was driving from Kent and coming down the A30 directions from that road would have been helpful. Also the farm track was really rough with outcrops of rock - beware any visitors with cars that have low profile tyres! In short the property is great - when you get there.

A very cosy cottage. Very roomy and well equipped

Very clean. A welcome pack awaited us which included a bottle of wine - extremely thoughtful. Very quiet and lovely views and walks. We would suggest that a 4 wheel drive is used as the unmade track up to the property was a little rough on our fiat. However, don’t let that stop you booking - you won’t be disappointed
