Stayed here a week with our 4 kids, teens and younger. Loved our time here!
PROS: Location - beautiful views, sunrises, ocean sounds, step off the pool deck onto the sandy beach; Caretakers - they live on the front of the property in a small villa - so helpful and they do a great job keeping the property spotless, beautiful, and the house cleaned daily - Isidro is an amazing chef!; Location again - away from the noise and crowds - RIGHT ON THE BEACH; Space for everyone - there are 2 decks, and the upper one was great to look at the stars at night; Casa Cenote - about 150 meters down the road is a large, freshwater cenote to swim; a couple of close restaurants; only about 10 minutes from Tulum;
CONS: The wind can howl through the house and rattle windows and doors during the night; as is common to the area, the beach gets piles of sargasso (seaweed) daily - BUT, Isidro did a fantastic job keeping it cleaned every day; beds are pretty stiff; beach out front is soft sand up to the waterline, then the rocks start immediately, so not great for beach swimming; snorkeling is tricky, depending on currents, because fresh water from the Casa Cenote empties in right there, creating visibility issues. Swimming out a couple hundred yards sometimes avoids the freshwater/saltwater mix, but highly variable.
OVERALL - This place was just awesome for our family! Isidro and Rocio were so pleasant to have, never intrusive, and so hardworking to keep the place in top condition. In fact, those two are gems that make the place what it is. Only thing that would improve this place is better swimming beach out front. As it is, it's still hard to beat a place like this! Thanks so much!
