The wife and I spent our 23 year anniversary at this place. Very close to lots of cool things the North Shore has to offer. You can be in Two Harbors (Tipsy mosquito is cool) in a matter of minutes and you can be in State Parks in a matter of minutes as well. You can literally walk to Bettyâs pies and we even took a journey all the way up to Grand Marais (Angry Trout is outstanding)approximately an hour and a half. The evenings were incredibly quiet and the views of the lake as usual are always breathtaking. I canât think of much that the house did not have that we found we needed, but didnât accommodate- I think this home would be really nice in the winter time as well!
We really enjoyed this place! Itâs so awesome to have the lake right in the backyard. Hard to beat having your own private beach, which is what I assume makes this a more expensive listing. Knowing it was something we canât afford to do often, we took advantage with dips in the water every morning and campfires every evening. The water isnât super easy to enter if you are older or younger, but it feels great! Thereâs plenty of firewood for the campfire and towels. The kitchen has a lot also, but no dishwasher and the coffee maker is a keurig. Luckily we brought our French press. Location is pretty great, with it being easy drives to two harbors, gooseberry falls, split rock, and tettegouche.
This cottage is an absolute gem! Itâs comfortable, with lots of space to spread out and so many thoughtful, homey touches. The location is ideal â close to town, yet plenty of privacy and incredible views. It was very clean, everything in good condition, and great communication with our host whenever we needed it. Hope to be back!
My wife and I recently celebrated our 53rd wedding anniversary at Shelf Point cottage. The property is a modernized cabin with a huge great room/kitchen/dining area with two large bedrooms on the end. The great room offers 180 degrees of windowed views of the lake. The cabin was spotlessly, clean. The kitchen has a gas range, All utensils, cookware, and table service are provided. We loved the closeness of the lake, the variety of seating options, and the large firepit. Having rented 60-70 VRBO properties over the years we both agreed that this one for us was one of the best and by far the very best of any we have rented on the Great Lakes. We appreciated the owners kind attentiveness and hope to return soon for a longer stay.
Great property and beautiful view of the Lake. Plenty of room to spread out and nice amenities. Our host was terrific and responded quickly to any questions we had.The only negative was that there is only one bathroom and it is on the small size. For our family, it was inconvenient.Still fantastic in every other way.
We had a great time enjoying the north shore this weekend. The lake, the fall colors, and the little towns. This place is a great home base and launch pad for all the things to do in this area. It was our 2nd visit to this property, and we enjoyed it even more than the first.
This property has a ton going for it. Great Lake views and perfect firepit. We spent hours watching the water, stars and fire. The cabin is comfortable and charming in all the ways a lake getaway should be: itâs also close to great hiking and local restaurants. My wife loved everything about it! There is some road noise, most of it is over shadowed by the crashing waves and the sound of the wind in the trees. Highly recommend!
My husband and I had a great 4 day weekend at this property. We enjoyed being so close to Lake Superior. We enjoyed each sunset on the rocks by the water. We even got to see a bear cub in the yard our first day!
Nice cabin 30 yards off the lake shore with great views.
Everything as described and worked fine. Not the most luxurious place, rustic kitchen plates/pans, bathroom - so more a cabin than a home. But again, as described and was fine.
Right in the middle of everything north shore. Good amount of space and great views. Unable to reach host for questions. When messaged via app, no response. Pleasant with greeting and send off though. Will stay again.
It ended up being a cold and rainy weekend, but it was a super cozy and relaxing setting to enjoy the fall season anyway! Loved having the wood burning stove, and the wonderful view!
This was our second stay here, and I suspect it won't be our last! :)
This is the nicest 2 bedroom cabin. It is cuter & larger than the photos. This is true lake access property with a fabulous view & breeze. Just north of the cute town of Two Harbors. Loved sitting on the lake. You can swim right off the property. Temperatures were hot in town but cool in the cabin & outside here from the lake breeze. We had a delightful time!
Very comfortable cottage on beautiful Lake Superior. Cottage has all the amenities for cooking, relaxing, and sitting by the lake. Secluded and private but in an area with a lot to do and see.
Enjoyed this private quiet shoreline cabin getaway
We were busy by day enjoying the North Shore and enjoyed time at this cabin in the evenings, just watching the water and sitting on the bench or in the "egg chair" enjoying the peaceful view and woods around. Fans in both bedrooms helped us all sleep better and there were dishes and towels and clean amenities for use.
We really enjoyed looking out over the lake as much as we could. Loved sitting down on the rocks by the lake and viewing nature at its best. We used the screened in gazebo each night to avoid the bugs. The cabin was very clean and spacious. The kitchen had just about everything we needed to cook breakfast and supper. It was nice to have the bedlinens and towels provided. The only real draw back was the inability to have a campfire by the lake at night. Also would prefer a Weber charcoal grill versus the gas grill. Definitely would recommend to others for a stay on the North Shore.
We were up for grandmas marathon and couldnât have picked a better spot for our family. The cabin had everything we needed and Kevin was very helpful and communicative. We would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a north shore getaway.
