The house was comfortable and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, and the backyard was beautiful. Great view, plenty of space to relax Aand a fantastic fire pit with tons of wood ready to use. One evening, a deer even wandered by to eat from the apple tree, which was such a special touch. The location couldnât be better, peaceful and private, yet just an easy drive into Taos. Weâd absolutely stay here again!
Tv would not work. Communication with host was not great when we needed to request a change to our stay. Waiting for her response, we lost the opportunity to cancel with a 50% refund.
Such a wonderful stay! Itâs a gem! Perfect for our family Taos ski trip and exploring the magic around us! Lots of space and amenities and great communication. Canât wait to come back someday
If you are coming to Taos to ski, this is a great place. Warm and clean. Make sure to be clear in directions before you get close, because cell signal is rough.
Our family stayed here over Christmas week. It is such a cute and roomy house with great views. It is perfectly set up with everything we needed. Convenient drive to both Taos Ski Valley and town of Taos.
The outdoor garden was beautiful, The sitting area at the end of the walk had a nice view of the mountains. Firewood was provided and we had a nice outdoor fire in the round covered fireplace.
Some convenience/maintenance items could be improved. The Fire detectors were missing, there weren't a large number of steps at the entrance but they were very tall and hard to walk up, the bedrooms were dimly lit and had no chairs to sit on to put on shoes, the hot water heater had a repaired pipe that was slightly leaking and this heater was very loud cutting on and off, the bed was very tall and was very hard to get into with no step stool, the picnic type dining table with the long bench seats was uncomfortable to use.
We absolutely loved this property. The adobe home was charming and rustic while also being well supplied with everything we needed. The views of the mountains, the fire pit, the hot tub, and the garden all added up to make this home a very special slice of New Mexico that my family and I would love to return to. The host Amy was also super friendly and responded quickly to questions.
The property was perfect- everything was clean and tidy. The home was well equipped with bonus items (oils, spices, extra paper towels, laundry soap) that were unexpected but awesome! The hot tub was great and clean and comfortable. We enjoyed it most evenings. We loved the view of Taos mountain in the morning with coffee and in the evening. The gardens were another added bonus and the yard and grounds were immaculate. Canât wait to come back! We miss it already..
My friends and I had a wonderful few days in the beautiful house at the end of March. The interior was very comfortable and had many personal touches not common in rentals these days. We also enjoyed the fire pit with it's gorgeous views of the mesa and mountains, and even made friends with a local dog. The hot tub was also amazing for relaxing after a day skiing or just simply relaxing. We would happily stay again!
We love our warm and cozy 5 nights stay in this skiing season. It can be one of the hottest properties in VRBO if it's organized and cleaned better. We love the remoteness of the house. It's better to arrive before dark for an easier drive on the unpaved road with sharp turns. 4 wheel drive is preferred. The way to Tao's Skiing Valley can be called a scenic drive. Ms Amy is quick in responding, check in is smooth.
Pure peace and tranquility, amazing views, amazing home and property, canât beat this gem of a location! Would love to come back again to this truly special place. Thank you Amy for a first class experience!
We loved this beautiful adobe home. It was artfully decorated, cozy, quiet and comfortable. The kitchen/dining/living area is large and open; the bedrooms are roomy with comfy beds. There are huge picture windows and an outdoor seating/firepit area that were great for watching the gorgeous sunsets overs Taos Mountain and stargazing in the clear night sky. We appreciated the outdoor blankets that allowed us to sit ouside in the cool temperatures. We enjoyed soaking in the hot tub. There are many scenic drives and hiking opportunities in the area. We had wonderful meals at Farmhouse Cafe and the Taos Mesa Brewing mothership location which is close to the Rio Grande Gorge bridge.
The host provided excellent directions to the home and was always quick to respond. Weâd love to return in the summer in order to experience the garden.
We had a longer summer vacation planned and stayed at the property for a few nights along the way. We stay in places as a getaway from the heat as well as the hustle and bustle of the city and this rental provided. It has amazing views of the mountains and is relatively secluded. There are plenty of activities within driving distance, we went hiking, white water rafting and some shopping in the Taos plaza.
I didn't book through VRBO and didn't have phone service, so had no way of communicating with the owner or caretaker. There is a rulebook with a way to contact the caretaker if you book through VRBO.
We wanted to use the firepit but after having to research the laws, it's illegal without getting a permit 48 hours ahead, so we refrained. The kitchen has a full array of utensils if needed. The beds are comfortable but I forgot that not many houses in Taos have central cooling so it made for some warmer nights than we're accustomed. Unfortunately for us, the hot tub water was filthy.
Very cute Lil home. Clean and comfortable house. Hot tub was great. Comfortably fit four adults. Road in was a little off the beaten path but as long as you followed directions you were fine. Wish I could have been there in the summer to utilize the gardens! Less than thirty from the ski resort
This property in Valdez is great if you want to be between the ski valley and the town of Taos. Quite location, well-stocked, with plenty of room to spare. We enjoyed our stay here!
Perfect Property. Why Would Anyone Stay in the Ski Valley?
If you're coming up to Taos to ski and considering staying at one of the overpriced properties in the ski valley itself you should probably reconsider; your judgment is questionable. Poor decision making is not something you want to bring to this mountain.
Over the years I've stayed at a number of rentals, both in and around the ski valley, and can say without hesitation that "Pinion Paradise" is where you want to camp out.
Fifteen minutes from the base area, sited on some seriously gorgeous wooded acreage with nice views of Taos Mountain. Newer house with a large, well-equipped kitchen, spacious bedrooms each with a television and a living room made for relaxing after a hard day on the slopes. The private outdoor hot tub comfortably seats four and is just outside the kitchen door. There appears to be another rental nearby (maybe 20 yards away) but the only "neighbors" we encountered were the local pack of curious pooches who came around whenever bacon was being fried up.
If this is your first trip to the ski valley, particularly during the winter season, save yourself some money and stay here. Taos Ski Valley isn't Aspen or Vail, not by a longshot. Unless you want to drive in to Taos proper there's not all that much to do and very limited dining options, particularly on weekdays. You're better off sticking around this cozy corner of Valdez, maybe grabbing dinner at Aceq in Arroyo Seco (10 minutes away) and soaking the night away thinking about which runs you're going to hit the next day.
